Do you follow the same religion/beliefs as your parents?

Growing up religious, a major question that unsettled me was that if god is just, and the majority of people never change their religions they were born with, wouldn't me entering heaven the all non-believers going to hell be purely a matter of coincidence? If I were born of another religion, I'd objectively have a far harder time finding what at the time I thought was "the right path" for a plethora of reasons. Alternatively, if the religion I was born with turned out to be a false one, would it be fair for me to go to hell when I never got the cultural exposure to the true one? Is it practical to expect people to do sufficient research into all religions in the world?

Do you think God will reward you for sticking to what your parents told you is the truth and punish someone else on the other side of the world for essentially doing the same exact thing? Do you think this is just?

More often than not, most people tend to follow their parent's religion or beliefs for that matter. However with time and as these people grow up to be mature persons, the choice to either stick there or change or leave religion altogether is in their hands.

When I was in high school I followed my mum to church lived under what she believed in and never questioned her faith. After college I had so many questions about the doctrines of the church I had been attending "my mum's church" and I could live by them anymore. So I stopped going to church.

After along period I looked for a non denominations church and while there I started finding out who God really is,if the bible is true and if I could relate to him direct. I found myself in God and now what I care about most is not which church I go to but what kind of relationship I have with God and this is what is important.

I hope my children will not necessarily follow my religion or belief but instead desire my relationship with God and that they too will develop theirs with him too.
