Do you enjoy foreign movies with subtitles?

Yeah I really enjoy to watch movies with subtitle. since most of my favourite movies are chinese kungfu movies and korean love dramas, and you cant understand what they are saying without subtitle. also subtitle also help to understand the movie more.

 

Affirmative.My friend once told me Hindi movies offer a great deal of thrilling plots and storylines.This led me to start watching Bollywood movies and to my surprise,they were amazing.Nowadays I often watch Hindi movies with subtitles.

 

I do but with one condition, the movie should not be boring. An example of foreign movies I enjoy are the Chinese ones especially action. They are really easy to understand and grasp their plot, and with the help of the subtitle, you get to perceive the parts you did discern.

 

Yes I do. When it comes to foreign movies, I mostly enjoy Korean movies. I don't mind reading the subtitles because I fully comprehend the writings on the screen as long as it is English.

 

Oh My God, yes. As it so happens, I love watching Korean drama with English subtitles. I also love Indian movies with English subtitles. I think in order to enjoy foreign movies, you must develop a love for their language first.

 

Yes, I do. There are a lot of great foreign movies out there but the language used to convey it's message might not be familiar to everybody. That's why subtitles play a major role for the comprehension of the movie.

 

Personally, I would prefer to watch any foreign movies with subtitles. Sometimes the dubbed version changes the meaning or it just doesn't quite fit the reaction of the characters. At least with the subtitled version, the expression and the context of the dialogue fits' perfectly. And when you get used to it, you can read the subtitles faster, so even though the character speaks fast you can still follow them.

 

Yes, I do. The subtitles connects you to the movie, the movie with a foreign language would hard to understand the main theme and though many like the South African comedy movies are sweet even without understanding the language itself when such movies have a subtitle they become even more captivating, hilarious and you get the real comedy out of them. This, however, would also apply to other types of movies such as Chinese, Indians and Latinos which in most cases are cast in the local languages.

The subtitles in these foreign movies are very crucial and very important to me when watching them.

 

Actually, In do enjoy watching foreign films with subtitles. The down side is that you have to cope up with the diversion between watching the movements and reading the subtitles.It is a little annoying that you know that you miss some scenes because you are busy reading the subtitles.That is why for me, I always rewatch the movie so that I can watch again the scenes I missed.

It also helps to learn some idiomatic expressions of other foreign languages.But the funny thing sometimes in a subtitle is that when it is done poorly, you came to read phrases and sentences that is totally uncomprehensible. Totally makes no sense. Sometimes the spellings are way out of order.But they are just exceptions to the few that I have already watched.I believe that subtitles add also some sort of suspense because you can understand fully what is going to happen and hence, because of that anticipation, lots of things will come into your mind and the feeling of suspense tends to be more intense.That goes more for horror films, if you know what I mean.Did you have also that experience before?

If not for the subtitles, language barriers are obstacles for us to watch other foreign films.Not everybody can speak English so thanks to subtitles, now we can enjoy movies from other countries and familiarize ourselves what their culture is.Truth is, there are numerous foreign films that are great to watch but the pleasure of watching them without subtitles differs than with subtitles along wth it.

I hope that every films have subtitles on it. It can benefit also for the hearing impared person, right? They too can feel the pleasure of watching their favorite films even they can't hear. Even if you are not deaf, suppose you want to watch a movie and your partner don't want too, if there is a subtitle, then, there will be no issue.Now that is an idea I like.

 

I love watching foreign films because I really enjoy other languages. I want to learn as many languages as I can in my life. Foreign films can really help with learning languages.

 

Im Indian Thats why I Need Subtitles in Foreign Movies and sometimes we need dubbed movies also but mostly i do enjoy foreign movies with subtitles because subtitles helps us all the time.

 

I'm actually one of the few people that I know that enjoy foreign movies with subtitles. I already enjoy subtitles for movies that speak English so it wasn't much of a transition for me to begin to like foreign movies the same way. I am a huge advocate for reading in general so having subtitles are just another exciting positive exercise or me. The only thing that I dislike about it is when the subtitles scroll too quickly not allowing enough time to read which results in missing important info in regards to the movie.

 

Yes. I will always enjoy watching foreign movies with subtitle. I can totally say that it is way better than dubbed films. I think I already mastered how to read the subtitle and at the same time watch the whole content. I think you can feel the emotion of the character more than if it was dubbed.

All people love to watch movies from time to time. Movies of various sorts like comedies, action, war, fiction, drama and documentary. By watching movies we get to relax from our daily activities.

Apart from those mentioned above, I believe movies allow us to experience a life that we may never really get to experience by placing ourselves in the shoes of the characters in the movie being watched.

I have heard a lot of people asking how other people enjoy watching series, anime or movies in different language but with subtitles. For me, as a fan of watching foreign movies I can still enjoy watching it even though I am also busy reading its subtitle, but I think it is just multitasking. We can't help it but to still watch it because we like it so much. We are very interested on it, so I think that is why we still enjoy watching with subtitles. Also, it does not matter to me whether it is a foreign movie as long as I enjoy it and I like it then I have no problem with subtitles as long as I understand the story as well.

Having subtitles on a movie that is done in a language that you do not understand will help you learn something.At least the vocabulary.
Despite the fact that I have good knowledge of English language, I still use subtitles in English to help me improve it.
Learning other languages is a good perk in today's society since there are movies/games/shows that can help you with it.
That is how I learned English and would recommend that way to anyone.

 

Yes I do! I like listening to foreign people talk in their foreign languages and understand them by referring to the subtitles. I always find it exhilarating to comprehend a tongue which I did not understand through the reading of subtitles.

I recall one time as a young boy when I tried to learn Chinese by referring to movie subtitles. I always loved Kung Fu movies but they were always in Chinese. The good thing was that there were subtitles to read from. I used to listen to what the characters were uttering and refer to the subtitles for their meaning. I then wrote down the words that I heard against their meanings and tried to learn them at my own time. Although I failed miserably, I enjoyed the experience.

 

Yes I do Clarabelle. I actually get along with them pretty well. One cannot overlook the fact that the material content and the execution of foreign movies has in many cases been at par with or even at times superior to movies acted in English. We must not ignore the fact that there are many brilliant foreign actors,producers and scriptwriters out there keeping audiences glued to the screen. I also find that reading the subtitles while listening to the foreign language awakens my senses and brings about a feel of understanding a foreign language. I find myself quite alert when watching a foreign movie while following the subtitles. I usually do not want to miss a single detail. Patience though is key and this is an interest that needs to be cultivated and nurtured over time. But one should not fret,all you need to possess in order to start enjoying is interest.

 

Yes. I have seen some Spanish fulms, Korean films, Korean series and japanese anime in subtitles. I like it better than dubbed because dubbed just feels weird and unnatural and often breaks you out of the immersion.

 

If the story is interesting, why not? I will watch it. But sometimes if I am tired I don't like to watch movies with subtitles because I don't like to read anymore I would just like to relax.

I don't like soap operas with subtitles though, because I don't like soap operas at all. For soap operas a big no.
