Yes, I sleep next to my phone. I use it as a music player before sleeping and as an alarm in the morning. But after reading this, I guess I will try to get rid of it.

I personally think that sleeping next to your phone is a good thing because you can use it as an alarm clock to wake you up in the morning. Another reason why sleeping next to your phone is a good thing is because in case of an Emergency like if someone breaks into your home or someone is having a heart attack you have fast access to your phone to get help.

I will admit that sleeping next to your phone is a bad thing also because I sleep next to my phone and when I get Notifications from my social networks, I am a little addicted so I end up on things like Facebook and I end up staying up late and staying in bed in mornings. So sleeping with your phone has it's Pro's and Con's.

Though, I have heard a lot about how sleeping next to the phone may be dangerous due to magnetic emissions. However, I don't think I can ever stop sleeping next to my phone.

As someone that lives his life online, my phone has become an integral part of me and is like my life depends on it. So, I am always with my phone consciously or consciously

This is a very bad habit healthwise but we all seem to be guilty of this act.Personally,I don't put my phone near my bedside because i hate the disruption of my sleep in any form.I have often heard of how electromagnetism causes cancer and our phones generate a whole lot of these electro-magnets.

We have to shelve this habit to be relevant healthwise in our future.

Before I used to it, I sleep with my phone under the pillow, but before my mom died because of a brain tumor I realized that it is really a bad habit. Phones or any gadget has a strong radioactive/radiation which is bad for our health.

now, I am trying to leave my phone under my cabinet or somewhere far from me. I also make a habit to turn off the wifi if I'm not using it because of its radiation.

Unlike the majority of people nowadays, i really don't have much use for my phone apart from reading and sending a few emails and messages here and there about work or school, checking up on social media and reading the latest news in various fields and on different subjects, other than the activities mentioned, there is nothing else that intrigues about mobile phones since i strongly feel that anything other than the basics is just a waste of time instead of being productive and proactive in your life.

I purposely leave my phone out of arm's reach while I sleep because I use it as an alarm clock and, as I am not a morning person, if I have to take the extra steps to actually sit up, reach over and turn my alarm off, I'm less likely to want to hit the snooze button.

Sleeping next to your phone has many disadvantages. A phone can overheat due to change of batteries or a malfunction and set fire to your bedding. Phones are known to emit what is known as a blue light which interferes with your sleep hormones hence causing sleepless nights which is just not healthy. Studies have also shown that the use of mobile phones might be carcinogenic due to the emission of electromagnetic waves leading to cancer. These are the three reasons that keep me away from my phone during my bedtime.

Sleeping with my phone near me? No. Not nowadays. In the past, I used to sleep alongside with my mobile phone in the same blanket. Little did I know the health problems that could be associated with it.

Although sleeping next to the phone may seem okay due to the fact that if there is any night call you can pick up easily, there are many damages that are associated with that.

First of all, sleeping too close to the phone exposes one to harmful electromagnetic waves that can later cause cancer. It is risky to be in close proximity to electronic devices for a distance of 10 cm or less. Electromagnetic waves are emitted by electronic gadgets, a mobile phone is a good example.

Another factor why mobile phones should not be kept on the bed is to prevent their destruction. In case of an accident that results in the phone falling on a hard surface, it can get destroyed. The worst of it is especially when the phone falls with its screen being the first one to touch the ground.

Sometimes I leave my phone on my desk which is beside my bed. From what I have heard, it's not only phones
that can be dangerous to sleep next to. Routers are also dangerous to sleep near with. My advice is to leave these
devices a few meters away from you.

Yes, I feel incomplete without sleeping next to it. To me it has become almost a companion. In addition to that, there are some alerts that I would like to get on time like texts and emails. It has become a daily habit.

sleeping next to your phone is harmful due to radiation. even if you use your phone as an alarm betetr to place it at a distance from the bed ( this will also avoid hitting the snooze button as you have to get out of bed to put off the alarm - soo yes good idea to use as an alarm and get out of bed on time!!

I used to, before I was sensitized on the dangers of sleeping next to it. Just like Cheryl has stated(although she has given a different reason) turning it off is of great advantage as it saves battery and also saves you from radiation which it emits when on.

With that, I advise Cameron to be careful about sleeping next to a phone, especially near the head as it may cause brain tumors in the future.

I noticed from the writers that most of use have something in common; using our phones as an alarm clock when we sleep. And I think that will be the most obvious reason for me why I sleep next to my phone. I used to put my phone on the side table near me, about a half meter away, so, yes, it is very near, and I have read in an article that it poses a hazard to health because of harmful radiation, how it causes certain cancer and all that. On the other hand, there are also health experts that are arguing about the negative effects of mobile phones.

They said that yes, these possibilities has been studied, but there is insufficient evidence that radiations emitting from phones can really cause cancer. They have pointed out that what phones emitting are called non-ionising radiation and it doesn’t have enough energy to change our cells in the same way as ionising radiation. Maybe it is really our call on how to handle our habits regarding dealing with our phones. Whether scientifically proven that phones will put our health in jeopardy or not, it is best that we, as users, should do things that should not compromise our well-being.

For now, much better to stay on the safe side and I will try to discover what manner of things I can do on how to deal with sleeping near my phone. Surely there are lots of ways to do that, and if it will benefit me, why not try? Like a saying I’ve heard a long time: “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. Stay safe, everybody!!

I usually do not sleep with my phone right next to me, but keep it on the desk across the room. I do that because of how it can harm your health, and also maybe because when it's right next to me I just switch off the alarm in the morning and go back to sleep :)p). I just set the volume to max and when it rings the next morning I actually have to get up to turn it off. Not today, sleepy boy!

Although sometimes I drift away to sleep while listening to music from my phone, and it happens much more frequently than I'll admit.

I keep the phone near the pillow while sleeping. I use it until late night and then keep it there with plugin the charger and falls asleep. I am single so no kid sleeps with me, and I sleeps alone in my whole room.

I knew it is not good to keep the phone near while sleeping but I got a habit to use it when I awake at night.

I do sleep next to my phone as it's also my alarm clock for waking up at 4:45. I have to catch my office bus at 6:45. I have heard of the disadvantages of having the phone near and these days, I have been using a chair next to my bed, to keep the phone in it. I have a habit of turning off the mobile data, so, I hope it helps in reducing the problems, in a long run.

I do follow basic precautions like turning off the phone during thunder storms and such. I did hear of things like, low quality phones, causing more issues in the long run. I own a Samsung galaxy A5 and a VK World T2 flip phone. I don't use my flip phone all that much but I do use my A5. May be I should think of getting a normal traditional alarm clock so that I don't have to use my phone, to do that job for me.
