Twitter vs. Facebook

I’m a Facebook user three years and a Twitter user two years from now. I’m into Facebook more, so I can safely say that it’s the better social networking site. Even though I also use Twitter, I think I can benefit more from Facebook since I find it better for social as well as personal interaction with my friends. Its user interface is also better than Twitter’s, at least for me.

 

I do use both of them alot. But I prefer using twitter more than facebook. With Facebook I use to chat, post photos, post videos, and more. But with twitter I strictly use it for business. I do online businesses, and I found twitter to be the best place to do business.

 

I prefer Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family near and far. I like having to hear of news of births and weddings that happened. It's also good for birthday reminders and event planning. Facebook can be a good tool in finding people that interest you. Twitter is good for promoting your business, blogs and websites.

 

Although I have both, Facebook and Twitter, I use none. My twitter account it's been long inactive, but for some reason, everything I post goes on there. My Facebook account? Well... yeah, I do use it a little when I'm bored, I scroll through the news feed and start reading every interesting article 'till I get bored or simply fall asleep; but usually I just keep it logged on and do other stuff, like playing or thinking for ways of making money online; and there are a lot of ways, you just have to think a bit more, process more, your brain can take it, trust me. Facebook is one way of helping you make money, you just got to figure out how. There are so many people using the so called "Social Network", why not think on how to exploit them? Let's continue... So yeah, I just leave my account logged on, and keep doing other stuff, 'till a message eventually pops up. Because while talking to people when doing something on the internet really helps; if they ask what are you doing, or how are you; just reply "I'm fine, just working on this...". And in a short while they will give you tons of ideas without even realizing it. Nature inspires people, technology inspires people, people inspire people. Because most things we see these days that inspire are us, are man made.

 

You are spot on OP. Twitter is much better for marketing and Facebook is much more personal.

I honestly do not really like either but I do maintain both for my business. I find Twitter gets a lot more response and I was able to pick up a lot of followers very quickly but I am not sure if they are really true followers or just users interested in picking up followers for followers. The follow back concept is great but what happens when all of your followers are just interested in picking up followers and not actually watching what happens on their feeds?

 

I prefer facebook, do not know why, maybe to use facebook more time and know better how it works. Also because all my friends and family use facebook, and it is easier to communicate with them. Furthermore facebook has games where we can have fun to play with friends or strangers.

 

When it comes to Facebook and Twitter, I like them both. However, I do like Facebook more for something, and I like twitter for other things. I like Facebook because I like to see pictures of my friends and important people in their lives. Plus, I like it in the sense that most of my Facebook friends do not have Twitter. So, having them on Facebook makes it better. It is also nice to hear about their accomplishments. I also found people whom I have not spoken to in years. It really helps to get in touch and stay in touch with people. I can also see business pages of people I know. My opinion about Facebook is that its soul purpose is for communicating with others.
Now, I will talk about why I like Twitter. I like it because I like that you can follow random people, and have random people follow you. It is also a site that is great for posting quotes, following accounts about your favorite topics. For example, one account I follow is 'College Student.' I used to be a college student, which is why I found the tweets on this account both interesting and funny. You can also be much more expressive about negative feelings that you want to vent out. Most of the time, people won't even think that the tweets are about them. Plus, unlike Facebook, not all your friends will see them. It may happen occasionally, but that's about it. You can also retweet, reply to, and quote tweets that you find interesting.
Both of these social sites have their own unique qualities. I love them all.

 

I much prefer Twitter over Facebook. Over the years I've tried to embrace FB at one time or another, but I find it's just too dull for me. Twitter, on the other hand, provides quick, punchy, and (often) thoughtful nuggets of interest that keep me coming back for more. I find I can consume and digest a little here and there with Twitter, without feeling drained at the end of a visit.

Facebook and Twitter do tend to play to very different audiences, and both will not appeal to everyone. C'est la vie!

 

Facebook definitely beats out Twitter for me. Anything that can be posted on Twitter can be posted on Facebook but not the other way around. Facebook just has so much more to offer.

I probably spend way more time on Facebook than I should but it just has so much more to offer. It allows me to keep in touch with friends and family. It's an easy way to share photos and videos. My favorite feature has to be creating events. I can decide that I want to throw a party, create an event and have everyone invited within minutes. There are just times when Facebook makes life so much easier.

I like Facebook more than Twitter. You can do a lot of things on Facebook like posting pictures, chatting, playing games, sharing videos, etc. I think Twitter is just a website for updates and sharing pictures. Twitter is too boring for me.

 

I voted for Twitter, but I use both daily. The reason I chose Twitter is because I enjoy participating in Tolkien related role play on Twitter so much. There is a whole community of role players from various fandoms. I am a Tolkien fan and enjoy conversing with others in character. I use Facebook daily, but usually only check it two or three times per day to see what family and friends have posted. There are other ways to keep in touch with my family, such as text messaging, so Facebook is not really that essential. Given the amount of time I spend on Twitter though, I would definitely miss it a lot if I suddenly lost access to it.

 

In my opinion, Facebook is less complicated. On the other hand I find twitter quite complicated and a bit boring. I once opened a twitter account but got bored and abandoned it.

 

I'm on Twitter maybe 5 minutes a day, and that's only to build my twitter account for my website, and to interact with new followers. I greatly prefer Facebook, mostly because I'm the owner a facebook group wtih 2400+ members, and that group will help bring members to my forum.

 

If this was asked to me about a year ago, I would go with Facebook in a heart beat. But, Facebook is dying and Twitter, Instagram, Vine, etc. are becoming much more popular. I personally like Twitter's interface and everything about it so I will go with Twitter.

 

I would say facebook. Facebook is more of an Familiy & Friends network. Twitter is a bit different,you can use that for following famouse people or for following others things.

 

I use them both daily but I have had Facebook for much longer than I have had Twitter. To be honest though I think Twitter is the best much social network as you can see news and what everyone's up to all in one place. Plus it's also the best place to go to if your following a sports game as updates are literally posted every minute

 

I would say I prefer Twitter, but I really don't like either very much. I am an avid Path (the URL is linked if any of you want to check it out) user. I like Twitter because it is easy to use and navigate, and I like the 140 word format. Facebook has too many privacy/security issue for me to ever really get into, so I have never had or made an account. Most of my friends and/or family are not on Facebook either so there is really no incentive. It's easier to connect with people on Twitter than Facebook in my opinion also, with mentions "@" and the like.

 

It's difficult to choose. I use Facebook to talk to friends. I use Twitter to tweet, retweet, and reply to other tweets. I use twitter for entertainment because there are funny videos. I used to play games on Facebook when I first started. I would play World Cafe everyday; however, the game was too addicting to me, and I had to stop playing. I would spend hours just looking at my food being cooked. I do not know what I was on when I was playing that game. I am glad that I stopped.
