Basically, Python is considered one of the easiest languages to learn. What's more? Doing everyday tasks is pretty easy too! Apart from that Python makes you disciplined- the best thing I like about Python.

Long back, I was really pro-PHP and reluctant to change. This meme was one of the every first things that my friend Sukun did to make me change sides to Python.

Python is more flexible, php is a server-side language and is not really friendly for newbies, in my opinion. Php is mostly used for web development, but has really strong competitors. Python, on the other hand, never goes out of style.
Php can be really confusing and also lacks proper learning materials for self-study. But it is mostly my personal opinion and I do not use those languages in my daily life, just familiar with them and their popularity.

To me, Python is the best by far. You learn python you can do an infinite number of things in the world of programming. PHP however, it only really has one main use... websites.

Both are easy to learn compared to languages like Java or Javascript. Python has clean syntaxes and it more like you are reading English. PHP on the other hand is also easy and straight forward.

You can start up with Python if you want but i think there are more job opportunities with PHP than Python.
