People from all groups are prone to stress; with the maximum belonging to the 26 to 45 age group.

"Music is one of the most healing things there is." When people are in suffering circumstances, music can help erase that. Major life events such as loss of loved ones or loss of a job or a major illness fall in this category.

As we all know, too much stress can have serious repercussions. Insomnia is also becoming common especially among the youth.

Music can boost both mental and physical health. It can improve the body's immune system, reduce stress and even work better than prescription drugs to reduce anxiety before surgery.

Personally, music has always been a healing and soothing part of my life.

Yes, of course. Music can relieve all the stress that we have. It helps us to calm our mind and think better. It also helps us to boost our mood when we are feeling sad and blue. Music plays an important role for each of us.

Music is a wonderful therapeutic tool to help you get through difficult times. Music stimulate brainwaves (they change to resonate with the beat) which changes mood and even behavioral responses pending on the type of music you're listening to. For example, music with a fast upbeat tempo can improve concentration and alertness; while music with a slower tempo produces calmness and a meditative state.

The benefits continue long after the music stops. When your brainwaves shift other neat things start happening in your body, for example, your muscles relax, you become more alert, and your breathing and heart rate alters.

Listening to music has a calming effect on me, whenever I feel stressed out I'll play my favorite selection of Big Band Jazz, Easy Listening, Chill-out Lounge Music and Bossa nova.

I have two favorite singers namely Harry Connick Jr and Sitti Navarro. Listening to their enchanting voices simply captivates me, relaxing both my mind and body. Drawing inspiration from their songs which contains romantically sweet lyrics and melodies uplifts my emotions and gives me a sense of euphoria and a nostalgic feel.

The soothing power of music is well-established.It has a unique link to our emotions,so it can be an extremely effective stress management tool.Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our mind and body.
As music can absorb our attention,it acts as a distraction and at the same time helps us meditate and explore emotions. This helps the mind relax and prevents it from wandering.I believe that listening to music helps relieve stress.

Music helps me calm mainly all the stress I have in my head. The moment I put on my headphones or earphones and listen to good music either through my laptop or my phone, It soothes and I inturn remain cool and calm.

I believe it can. Music is like medicine for the soul. When I'm stressed out I just put on some music and a few minutes later I find myself singing to the lyrics like the song is my own. And when that happens, for a while my problems go away and I am just focused on the music.

    Indeed! Music relieves stress.

In most cases music affects the mood of a person. One must choose a type of music that a person should listen to, especially in what mood a person has. For example you are sad because of being broken hearted, listening to music like love songs will make you more sad. On the other hand, if you are happy because you are in love music like love songs will intensify your happiness.

Of course music is a stress reliever. It allows the mind to take a creative approach to daily things and really learn from the words and or feel of the song.

Finding your appreciation and connection to a certain genre allows your mind and body to relax listening to something you love. It’s almost like looking at a puppy but for your ears when you find your jam.

My stress reliever is singing my heart out in the shower or car. It allows me to let go and just have fun with the song.

Music is like medicine to the soul. Music speaks to every feeling joy, anger, sadness, frustration nothing can bypass it. It gives one some special ambiance that not even the mind can understand.
I love RnB, Blues, some soul and some classical opera genres, they always take my heart and soul to somewhere inexplicable when I listen and sing to them especially if I am feeling off.

I definitely agree. Music does relieve stress especially in the evening. If you want to relax more just crank up whatever music you like best and get in the shower, you will definitely be smiling five minutes later singing and dancing too.

I completely agree with you and acknowledge the fact that music plays a very influential and front-page role in life. It always comes to rescue, especially at depths of despair where nothing seems to be going appropriately in life. I wonder everyone might have experienced that music played a heroic role during times when they were disheartened and stonewalled.

The body generates stress as a response to the situations which terrifies it. This response itself helps to go for backbreaking work and tackles the difficulty standing in front. However, superabundant stress is sickening, often followed by ailments. Music serves as a stress management tool as it completely relaxes and rejuvenates our mind and body. The catastrophic effects which stress generates are cut off by soothing effects of music.

More or less music is part of us and we are part of music. In several occasions music plays a major role. Once I had issues with my employer concerning job description and specification. As soon as I reached home there was a specific genre of music I would prefer listening to. I could even repeat it over and over again the entire night. This particular song made me feel relieved of the pain and makes me feel like am born again, rejuvenated and full of energy.

I agree with you 100% that music reduces stress and depression and boosts our self esteem.

I think your are right @Lisadolor.Music can relieve stress. Putting on music that speaks to your soul will instantly change your mood and change your stress. Music scothe your jangled nerves and return you to a state of calm, peace or happiness. Listening to music lowers blood pressure and boosts immune cell count while reducing stress.

I definitely agree with all you. Music is a stress reliever; it's like a pain killer that once absorbed you get relieved instantly. In other words while some people would go for alcohol when they feel stressed out, others would rather use music as a way of alleviating their stress. What other way there is other than listening to music, I would definitely choose it over any other thing.

Yes, music can relieve stress, mostly on classical musics. Other than Bible, they said "Music is the food of soul", well that's is definite 'YES'.

Music has many different genres that we can listen -- it depends upon your style and mood. Music can express our emotions today just like listening love songs nowadays. Music can relieves us, especially after work, or while we ill. It can also relieves our depressions, or while jamming, or whatsoever.

They said "We can't live without music", so be it -- music is part of our lives.

Yes. Music has the capability to relieve stress. Music is very powerful and popular it has the ability to aid people in a quest to feel good. It can help make you feel happy, sexy, relaxed, or if you listen to the wrong kind at the wrong time, angry. One of the best reasons to listen to music though, is because it can relieve stress. Whether you are over worked and in need of relaxation, or suffering from a relationship breakup or grief, listening to music can leave you feeling calm and stress free, providing you with welcome relief.

One way music achieves such a calming response is by helping to slow down a listeners palpitating heart. When you feel stressed, one of the physical reactions you will probably experience will be a racing heartbeat, otherwise known as palpitations. Other symptoms may follow, such as rapid breathing and emotional anxiety. Music can also leave you breathing more deeply, and making your breaths longer, and slower. The physical reactions which music alters will also help to alter your emotions and ultimately reduce stress.
