What is art to you?

I draw and paint because I love doing it. And this may sound weird but I really love the smell of paint and copic markers. I think I'm addicted to them.

Kidding aside, painting and sketching is a way for me to express my inner thoughts and emotions. It's also a way for me to exercise my imagination. It's like I'm in a different plane when I am drawing something that my mind totally made up, like a vast alien landscape or creatures that one would only probably see in their dreams (or nightmares).

 

Art is wonderful, it can be just about anything. It doesn't only have to be about painting a picture, because there is art in everything writing, painting, dancing, acting, singing, cooking, eating, teaching, kissing etc. Art to me is understanding and appreciating the things you do and love, it's a way of channeling passion into something beautiful and meaningful. Art no matter how small or big always have meaning and to me art is one of the world's greatest form of living.

 

Art is creativity. The ability to perceive a concept and bring it to reality. Expression of one's creativity in art could be in the form of music, drawing, singing, writing etc. Its more of natural talent, though education can help polish one's creativity.

 

I think art is many things. It can be a talent, a painting, a drawing, acting, singing, or whatever someone may be good at. We all are artists in our own rights. Even the best cook could be considered and artist. An artist in my opinion is superb at their personal talent.

 

People view art differently. For you Hiraeth it was a form of release for the pent up pain in you.

I draw, bead make, and write. It has always been something that comes naturally to me. When I was young I developed an interest in pencil drawing and modelling clay because my friends were exceptional in them, so I basically wanted to fit in. These days I draw because I like looking at my work. I feel proud and happy somehow especially if I give them to somebody I care about and see them smile. What do you do with your art Harieth after you make it?
I usually bead make bracelets with somebody's name and give it to them. I draw for the same reason and I write poems because I like logic and like to think. Poems enable me to think clearly and not as random as I do.

Basically I love the challenge of making art and the feeling that comes after I have finished it.

Art can be many things such as music, a painting, dancing, preparing food, a sketch, anyting to express one's mood or feelings about themselves or another person or the world in general. I always found art to be fascinating, creative and beautiful.

 

Art to me is a way of expressing your self either with music, painting, dancing, etc. I sing to express my emotions or just to make myself or others happy. With you expressing yourself with your art you can transmit different emotions to those who surround you too.

 

Art is everywhere. You cannot compare Art in Sciences. Art is very different in Science. Science is life but art gives color in life. You cannot live without art. Art is the thing that you wear, eat, hear, see and etc. in our daily lives. Laughter is an art that's why art is the best medicine. We must appreciate art because art is also a God's creation. Enjoy our life with arts.

 

Art is any creations that convey emotions and ideas skillfully and aesthetically. It has the power to alter people's perspective on things in general, and, thus, change their actions and behaviors as well. But more generally, everything can be art. A children's painting can be art. The posture of a man who is sleeping can be art. Even profanities, if uttered in an artistic way, can also be art.

 

When I do hair I consider that art .I have been a hair dresser for years, it's a form of art .I also doodle a lot drawing cartoons and such.
Never been a painter tho harder than it looks. But I do think anything done creatively is a form of art.

 

To me, art is therapeutic and liberating in the purest way. It is so difficult to express in words what art means to me. Art is everything. Where would we end up without art? Our life is an art and those who can express themselves in a way that beautifully resonate with most other people are referred to as good artists!

 

Oh my gosh, what a huge and open ended question. But since it's framed as a personal question I'll take a crack at it.
Art, for me, is the authentic expression of experience, thought, emotion, and visual engagement with the world we live in. It assumes integrity of making, sincerity of craft, and uniqueness of individual intention. It should aspire to beauty and an intention to communicate to others. And it should honor the best of what came before it.

 

Art to me is drawings and paintings. Art today can be many things like photography and 3D art. Making things with clay is art. Tattoos are art. Art is everywhere. I love art. I love paintings and pictures. It brightens up my walls. I would have someone paint the walls if I could. I love art stores and Hobby Lobby. I like crafting. Crafting is also art. Art is just taking what you see and drawing it. I love art.

 

Art according to me is the true expression of the heart and soul. Art can take many forms such as writing books, creating art pieces, composing a song, creating a beat for a hiphop song, sculpting statues etc. A good painting can bring happiness to a room, a well composed song can uplift someones spirit and we all enjoy a good book written by talented authors. Being a artist myself i find art to be a major aspect of my happiness. Creating and living to the fullest creating art is what I live for.

 

The arts are an essential part of public education. From dance and music to theater and the visual arts, these programs give children a means of expression that helps capture their passions and emotions, allowing them to explore new ideas. The arts touch every aspect of our lives.

The arts can play a crucial role in improving students’ ability to learn because they can make use of a range of intelligence and learning styles. Schools that incorporate music, art, drama, dance and creative writing into their curricula have found that teaching the arts has significantly affected a student’s overall success in school. I believe the success is based on the fact that the arts are closely associated with important ideas and events in history. Students who have a good background in the arts are likely to have more information and insight.

Education of the arts not only enhances students’ understanding of the world, it also broadens their perspective on academics. The arts allow us the creativity to express ourselves while challenging our intellect. Art and musical expression exercises the right side of the brain - the intuitive portion - unlike most academic classes, which focus on the left side.

According to experts, it is necessary to exercise or use both sides of the brain to maintain balanced emotions. The arts unite life and learning and are essential in the development of the whole person.

The arts can change the classroom environment, making learning a lively and rewarding experience. With their emphasis on creative discovery and their ability to stimulate a variety of learning styles, the arts create enthusiasm and motivation for learning. The arts also teach discipline, the value of determination to achieve excellence and the rewards of hard work.

Creativity is crucial to the learning process and useful in many fields including architecture, engineering, physics, chemistry and mathematics. Overall it helps to incorporate the creative expression of thought.

From my point of view, the arts are just as important as any other subject. In many high schools, though, science and math are priorities and the arts are considered less important. In recent years, there has been discussion about continuing these programs. Some feel that, because of budget problems, schools should cut music and theater programs to save money. I strongly disagree. What we learn in these classes is priceless. The arts challenge us to work hard, handle disappointment and encourage us to strive for perfection.

My school definitely has a budget problem. They have already made many cuts in staff to help ease the deficit. It makes me wonder how far they will go. I hope my school will overcome its budget problems without discontinuing the arts.

The arts are my life, and through them, I have received many honors. I hope my school and others realize their importance and how beneficial they are to students, not only for what it teaches us in these fields, but also what it teaches us about the world and life.

 

Art to me is the very essence of life since everything in our lives is primarily art. From the music we listen to and love, to the books we read either fiction or nonfiction. The clothes we dress in or even the cars we drive to the houses we live in.

Art is a part of us that we can never leave behind. But the most inspirational and awesome type of art is the abstract art. The paintings, the drawings, the sculptures and everything that graces our museums.

Artists like Da Vinci will always be remembered for their significant paintings in history like the Mona Lisa.
This paintings are a real motivation to us art lovers since they are part of historical art.

Art is therefore part of each and everyone of us.

 

What exactly is art? That is a big question. Modern art can be a teddy bear sitting on a blanket or a blue strip (The Voice of Fire) or it can be very complicated.

 

I feel art is something when one is able to express themselves in a clear and a beautiful way.Where one conveys their emotions and feelings through any form whether it be their body language or their words.Art may touch souls and take us into the performer's era.
