What ways do you prepare for a test? I have a hard time trying to study for a test when they come up. I try to re read what I am being tested for and it seems like I still forget half of the test. It is super frustration when I am trying hard to remember what notes I have written when I am taking a test. I write a lot of notes, but it is not helping much. I get enough sleep and eat a good breakfast before I take my exams too. Someone said to try yoga an hour before the test. It seems like there is soooo much to remember when taking a test. Especially a long test with 100 questions or more. What are your thoughts?

Taking tests really puts you in a lot of pressure specially those tests for grading or evaluations. The effort you put in every exams varies in different people some are lots, minimal or no effort at all. Different people requires different techniques. Some are good with memorization, some with figures and visualization. It might help knowing what is your strong point. What are you good at?

Also, it will help to see what is your method of studying and to correct it. Actually, taking a lot of notes doesn't necessarily mean that it helps you in your studies. Sometimes it can also cause more confusion. My advice is to write notes in your own words during discussions. When your professor dictates, you should not write word by word of what he says. It's better to write base on your comprehension without changing the meaning of the discussion. It's just like changing the words use to something you can understand better. This works for me. When using a book or notes, use a highlighter to highlight the main points. It makes it easier to study and to remember the important parts.

In memorizing, I associate the words with objects. I associate it with objects that is familiar to me so that I can remember easily and every end of the class you should study, avoid cramming at all costs. It won't help, it will make the test worst. Lastly, I really think doing yoga helps because sometimes when we are very anxious our brain shuts down. Just keep calm. One way of achieving peace is through praying, this helps a lot. You need to control your mind. Sometimes because you think that you always forget during exams this will materialize, you will end up forgetting. Change the way you think. Remember that what you always think becomes you, the mind has a way of achieving that. I've known very smart people who failed their exams most of the time due to this. Change your mindset. Believe that you will remember and you can do this.

I have a roommate here at college that had the same issue, until I pointed something out to them: they would re-read their textbook to study, but they actually learned best by listening. Quizzes like https://www.chegg.com/play/student-life/quiz-what-type-of-learner-are-you/https://www.chegg.com/play/student-life/quiz-what-type-of-learner-are-you/ will help you figure out how you learn best. Then, use that info!

If you're a visual learner, you learn best by seeing. Read over your old notes and your textbook to study, and look up charts, graphs, or pictures online to help you understand concepts.

If you're a kinesthetic learner, you learn best by doing. Re-write important parts of your notes, take any practice quizzes in your textbook, and try to act out important events (for history) or do experiments that demonstrate concepts you're learning (in science).

If you're an auditory learner, you learn best by hearing. Ask your teacher if you can record lectures and listen to them later, or look up YouTube videos on your subject and listen to them to study. You can also ask your friends to explain the concepts to you -- this works great if they're a kinesthetic learner, because it will help them study, too!

There's loads of quizzes online that can help you understand how you learn best. From there, do some research to find specific study methods that work for you and your classes. Good luck in school!

Test makes one to have a lot of pressure and also tense so much but I believe those people who behave this way are the people who never prepared appropriately for their examination.so for one to be said to have prepared well for text and to avoid a lot of pressure within them ,first is to make a reading time table before he texts are done this helps to maximise every single time that you have .secondly, summarize your notes into understandable short notes this helps to understand the concept in the notes and also minimizes the time taken to read the entire notes.Thirdly use past papers to evaluate yourself on the concept you have read this eventually shows you whether you have understood or not if not revisit the notes .
