I would rather cry in a Lamborghini than laugh in a bicycle. What about you?

It is true that money can solve many problems. However, the are exceptions. Life has too much value than money can afford.True love is also worthless. Peace is very necessary in order to enjoy wealth but money will not get you peace.

People often ask questions like this. Another variant of the above question is the question on whether money is the source of happiness; and to question like these, my answer has remained a "no".

I do not hate money, I'm only of the opinion that money has no will power, and at such doesn't have what it takes to bring happiness, or take I away.

So, if you think money can bring you happiness, and you therefore pursue it, leaving out other things that matter most, you're already on your way to gloom. Money does not bring happiness, neither does it take it away; our attitude towards it is what brings the happiness or take it away.

To truly answer the question of "Does money buy happiness", we must view this issue not with the eyes of the successful wealthy individuals, but those who are striving to be us. Greed is a natural part of human nature and it forces our eyes up. We always think of the things in which we need to strive for, the big house, the new car, to be the next Bill Gates. But once we look down upon the people who are less fortunate than us, it is then in which we would be truly happy for what we have. Thus, money can buy greed which accumulates with the increase of wealth, but it cannot buy gratefulness and happiness.

:) Good quote which made me laugh a lot.At this time of my life I enjoy public transportation for one basic reason. The buses and trains are comfortable and you can even have a snooze( with snoring).
It’s happened to me a couple of times when the driver had to wake me up as we are at the last stop. Also on many occasions I have missed my stop and come back to the place where I have to get to in a grumpy mood, just because I fell asleep.:)

Before I answer your question let me dissect first these to different things called Happy and Joy. Being happy is good, and happiness comes from numerous reasons such as being promoted to your job, winning a jackpot on sweepstakes and etc. On the contrary, joy is when we feel selflessly happy, it is more on how we feel if someones happy. Joy means being contented on what you have and it's a natural feeling, even though we are hurting, joy is still there and that makes us stronger despite of all the bitterness our life has given to us.

For me, yes you can be happy with lots of money, but the joy that you can feel if you do good to others, if you help others and support others that's the most satisfying feeling even 6 feet under you can have a smile in your face. Happiness is temporary but joy focuses on spiritual aspect and it is eternal.

    This quote made me laugh.

True. Money may not buy happiness but it helps you buy the things that make me happy. If you have no money, you cannot buy food, and if you're starving how can you be happy? My sister always had a quote that stuck to me, I don't know where she got it but it goes like this: "People who say money can't buy happiness just don't know where to shop."

Of course, you cannot let money blind you. If your love for money ends up making you overlook the more important things in life like friends and family, that's where the bad part comes in.

This is a wonderful question that demands a beautiful answer. First, we need to deal with what’s on the inside. Most people take a different approach. They want to deal with the outside. They pray for their problems to be solved and that only good things and good people will come their way. Let me give you a clue: That ain’t going to happen! Happiness is found in the state of our hearts.

Jesus said that true satisfaction in Him because only He has overcome the world. As long as we are in this world, we will have problems (John 16:33). And if we are living for God, we will have persecutions (2 Tim. 3:12). If you never bump into the devil, it’s because you’re going in the same direction. When you turn around and start swimming upstream, you will always encounter resistance. People and circumstance might start working against you. That is why true happiness does not depend on the outside circumstances.

This is the true reality. You can’t always control what goes on outside, but you can totally control what goes on inside when faced with that resistance. When you understand that, you will have discovered one of the greatest keys to happiness. In addition, you will be on your way to eliminating grief in your life. True happiness is found only in the Lord. Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say rejoice." It does not say rejoice in money or whatever. It says exactly to rejoice in the Lord. That means we are happy in the Lord and not on anything else this world has to offer.

Money can get the physical objects that you dreamed to have. But it does not guarantee long-term happiness. It could make you feel better temporarily but attaining happiness without money involved is possible. For instance, joining a community that helps poor people.

Plus money cannot buy good friends, contentment, time and meaningful life.

Yes. I believe money can, quite easily, pave a path directly to being happy. But that does not mean that money will make you happy, but it has the power to solve so many problems that are placed on people that prevent them from doing what they want to do in life. If you don't have to worry about not having enough money to eat, not having enough money to live in a warm house, not having enough money to pay for gas to get to work, not having enough money to even get a vehicle, not having enough money to pay for your bills, not having enough money to buy that cool thing you say at Walmart, then you can worry about the things that will actually progress your life. You can focus on hobbies, relationships, your children, your education, your body, your mind, whatever it may be that you want to do, you can do. Simply due to the fact that you don't have to worry about the same responsibilities that other people without that money may have to.

Yes, money can help you be happy , it can make so much difference in you life by making it so much easier, exciting and funny, still, money can't afford happiness alone, happiness starts from yourself and from your prospective and how you deal with crisis and hard times, it's a state of mind that occurs when you love and respect yourself as well as when you lead a nice easy life.
Money can afford to make you happy and relaxed, it can help you reach your goals and dreams , help your loved ones and enjoy the beauty of life, but even so, money can't afford health all the time, it can't afford love or trust.I believe happy people have a combination of: money ,health and good relationships.

I have to say money can buy things that will make you happy. Yes. But money can never buy contentment. If we always desire things to keep us happy, then what will happen if we can no longer afford this lifestyle? Bottom line is, we have to be satisfied with what we have. Only through this can we be able to achieve true happiness.

Yes you could say money can bring happiness, but the happiness that it brings, would it stay? Here's an example, You spend your money on a bar so you can party, you're so happy that you drink all night until you fall asleep. The party is over, you wake up from a hangover, but the question is, are you still happy? You might say, then I would just go to another bar and spend more money so I can be happy again. Really? Is that really what you call happiness? I don't think so. I'd call it instant gratification which a lot of people in this generation wants. But for me, what I want is long lasting gratifications, like real friends, good relationship with my family, or something really simple like doing what I really love. For me, that, that is happiness.

Money can buy everything that will make one happy. But without contentment, we will always be in a never ending journey to buy things to keep our happiness fulfilled. It would always be great have satisfaction with the little things we have. Contentment teaches us how to be grateful and that money is never the means to fulfill the void in us. At the end of the day, we should appreciate all the good things we have, and learn to disassociate materials with happiness.

I, personally, feel like yes, money is more valuable and more worthwhile to me than pure enjoyment of life. If I were homeless, I might be able to derive some small enjoyment out of various daily activities and my friends and family, but I would ultimately be extremely unhappy. My life would not be worth living without at least enough money for an average, comfortable life. Without money, I know I would be too consumed by worry over financial matters to really be able to enjoy anything else anyway.

Money only brings happiness up to a certain point. People need things like food, water, shelter, transportation, and other basic necessities. But, after these things are met, more money does not equal more happiness.

Money can not bring happiness but it can make life easier. It would be hard to be happy if you don't know where you're going to live or how you're going to eat. If you are extremely wealthy you do not have any way to know if the people near you are your friends or if they are using you.
I think most people are happier if they have enough money so they don't have to worry about bills and can go places and do things.

Well I want happiness too and for everyone, it ranges. I like to eat, and happiness for me is sitting down with a huge box of Chinese food and getting down in front of a nice movie with a Pepsi. The outcome of this overtime is not happy when I look down and my toes are out of view though.

I definitely won't say that money equates happiness. Don't get me wrong money can solve a lot of problems and the lack thereof can cause a few, but the desire to have it can drive some to do all of the wrong things. This question makes me think of Tyler Perry's Movie, The Family That Preys. One of the main families in the movie had money for days, but boy were they ever unhappy. The matriarch was diagnosed with a disease, and the son had essentially two families and was backstabbing his mom. The other family in the movie had a member that was obsessed with acquiring as much riches as she could, and she tore two families apart. Personally, I'd like to be comfortable. I'd just like to be able to pay my bills, not live paycheck to paycheck, have my family enjoy random purchases, and have a savings account or emergency money as some call it. Extravagant purchases have never been something that I've been interested in. Also, I believe that people who have never struggled don't appreciate riches and wealth when/if they get it.
