I do use both hard copy and soft copy books. Mostly I use my phone to read, with a Kindle app. It's easy to carry, I always have it with me, and even in the dark, I can read without an issue. I love it! I even use e-books for school. I can easily search through the book for the information I need, and find it quickly. There are notations that can be made, and you can highlight portions and find them easily too.

If I buy a hard copy book it's because I want to share it with someone. Sharing is really tough with an e-reader, unless you want to give someone access to your account, and with that comes the worry that they will purchase something without your knowledge or consent. Nook has a share feature, but it is only for certain books. Usually the books I want to share are something that pertains to a topic I'm researching, especially if I know that other people in my circle of friends will find it as interesting as I do.

It is easier to use an e-book and carry it around with your mobile device. You can actually compress your entire library at home into your thin device without having to take so much space. Although I love the experience of browsing through the pages of a real book but nowadays that is not so convenient for me.

I have a Kindle and love my ebooks. It's so easy to find new books to read, even if you haven't got money in your budget to buy books. You can get free books from Amazon, Archive.org, Project Gutenberg, etc. On the other hand, sometimes the formatting of an ebook is terrible. There may be spelling mistakes and places where the paragraph breaks are missing; things left over from a poor conversion. Also, I don't like to try to read a technical how-to ebook. It's difficult to refer to two or three places in an ebook at once, but it's easy to do this with a paper book.

So, for me, paper for education and ebooks for fun.

YES! I love E-Books! I like being able to carry my library with me wherever I go. It's convenient and you can share books easily. I will admit though, I do miss hard copy books. I'm just getting back into buying them. I miss the tactile feel of a book, and writing notes in the margins.

Electronic books are really comfortable these days. We have the tablet or gadget and then we download e-book reader. As of now, I have read lots of stories and articles on my gadget. Yes, I do use e-book to read my articles because I can read it on the dark unlike books that needs lights :)

No, I am not using E-books. I like to touch a book, to feel it in my hands and to follow the roads with my finger when i read. The E-books are on gadgets and I think the gadgets can hurt the eyes.

No, I prefer reading books on the old fashion way, maybe because it is just my instinct as an aspiring writer and poet. Yes. I like the convenience of what our technology offers nowadays, but just like what I said, I would more likely to bring heavy books on my bag and lay it all down on my table. There is just a feeling within me that desires to preserve the culture of reading books traditionally.

I always swore that I would never read an e-book. I love the feeling of holding a book in my hands. The thought of reading a book withough physically turning the pages used to make me cringe.

Then it happened. A friend at work recommended a book and the library did not have a copy. She told me not to worry because it was actually free online. So I did it. I went to the link and I started reading. I was ashamed but also really enjoying the book so I kept reading.

I have to admit that is wasn't terrible. I still prefer actual books and I don't think that will change anytime soon. However, I do understand the convenience of e-books.

I read many e-books now because of Kindle and the Kindle app on my phone and iPod. At first I really wasn't thrilled about the e-reader, but I have gotten used to it. What I like about it is that I have access to many more books than I would have had if I only read paper books. My county library system does not have much money, so the selection is not good, however, the county does have digital borrowing now. This has broadened the selection tremendously and I really enjoy using this feature.

Sometimes I do miss the feel of a paper book. I still read paper books from time to time, but I can not afford to buy them. While it costs at least $5 to purchase an old classic in used paper back, you can download it for free. For me this is the biggest reason I have switched to reading mostly e-books. If my public library does not have a book I would like to read, the chances of getting it as a free download if it is public domain, or being able to digitally borrow it are much better than the chances of me being able to afford to buy it.

As a retired Media Specialist (Librarian), I have to vote for the actual books. There is nothing like the feel and smell of a new book, or an old one! I make several trips to the local library each month, and always enjoy walking out with an arm load of books. However, I am not so old fashioned that I don't realize the value of a Kindle. In fact, I own one, and enjoy it a lot. It's very convenient to find things that aren't available in the library, it's great to read when you don't want to disturb someone at night (mine's a paperwhite), and I absolutely love it on the beach. The wind can't blow the pages!

I didn't think I would enjoy reading E-books, but I have come to love it, especially when I travel. It is so much easier to just load books onto my phone or tablet than it is to carry two or three books with me. I ran into a problem recently though; I was visiting friends who live near the beach. I couldn't read for too long because the hot sun beating down on us made my device too hot and it turned itself off.

I do love the feel of a real book in my hand though. There is just something about turning the pages and hearing the spine of the book crack for the first time. I have many books in my personal library that I can't seem to get rid of.

Overall, I'd say my vote is Yes to both!

I only use eBooks for otherwise really expensive academic books and lecture notes. If I can access it from the library in physical form, I prefer that, as I find the real paper books and publications easier and comfortable to read.

I am a user of e-books for quite some time and I could say was that it is a very good innovation of the book industry and how people be able to buy those e-books. I would also want to tell that because of the internet, many self-publishing authors have become successful because of this kind of system.

It has many advantages too because it will minimize the use of paper that degrades the forest trees. You will just tap the e-books by the use of Amazon Kindle or even a laptop will do as long as it is in pdf form. I am an advocate of e-books and also an author. :)

We have to be thankful for the advances in our technology because we have now gadgets that have enabled us to read electronic books. I have read electronics books before, but I have always preferred reading the paper back books. I love the smells of the paper and really touching a book by my hands. The experience of reading a paper back book is better than electronic books. It is also not good for your eyes reading in front of the screen for a long period of time because of the radiation being emitted by the gadget.

I've just recently begun using a tablet to read an e-book and though I was completely opposed to using it, I've come to appreciate it's convenience. But this is the case for only the books I read for leisure. I prefer using physical textbooks and books if it is required of my studies. There's just something enticing about having a physical copy of the book...maybe the combination of the feel, the smell, and the sounds of the book pages being flipped? Who knows!
With all the advancements taking place, I truly hope that in the far future that physical books will still be around for use.

Yes I use ebook out of necessity. Personally, I'd still prefer reading hard copy of books but sometimes it's too bulky and heavy to carry around. I don't really like reading ebooks because sometimes I get headaches once in a while and I really love holding the actual book because it's feels more real. I guess there are pros and cons of ebooks but sometimes we don't have a choice but to use it since it's more convenient.
