Why do you play video games?

I play video games because they're fun to play, but I like only playing easy games. I do not like to play games like Call of Duty or Battlefield because they're hard to play. I always end up dying so much. I like to play games like Mega Man, Mario, and Pokemon. I used to spend hours playing video games; however, I had to stop because I had school the next day.

 

I would say it's a philosophical and social question. I think I play it because sometimes I feel the need to fill a void or perhaps occupy myself and feel like I'm achieving something. I think it's more about the challenge which is what makes a good video game. I do find that many people play a lot of video games due to competition against friends and they would kill themselves over it and not get a good sleep, meaning, having it interfere with their daily life, that is when the fun or purpose of a video game ends.

 

I enjoy trying new games, and also it helps me to see which games are worth the time and the effort as some game can be real hard and not have a interesting story or the controls are not made well for the players. I, have been playing games for many years and enjoy a strategy one or one which involves things not appearing to be what they are and also msytery characters who may appear to be a bad person but turn out to be a good person and helping you out. Games can test the mind, and also you play a different person and live the life of the characer in the game and also see the game world and think of many ways to solve the problems and choices which come up from time to time in the game.

 

I probably play video games for distracting myself from the real life problems. I also have many friends that I've made through online games and I truly enjoy spending time with them, as they are probably the best people I've ever met.

For the Enjoyment ... Been playing video games since I was like 5. Also it helps pass the time.

 

It's a form of entertainment. I play video games for the same reason someone watches T.V.; to experience something new from every iteration and have fun with it.

 

I love video games, i play them everyday purely for entertainment. If they didn't have the online feature which makes you able to talk to friends, i wouldn't be playing video games. It's great how a little compact box can do all of those things! I currently play on the xbox one, what do you guys play on?

 

I love video games. Since my old 128K spectrum that i play games. My first game was called "Tintin on the moon" and I still remember well the game. I never stopped playing games because it relieves stress, makes us live new stories, meet characters, new experiences.
From the time I started playing so far, games have evolved an astonishing way. Today the games are cinematic experiences. And I believe that will also evolve more ...

 

I okay the because of the normal reason – to have fun. Sometimes I'm feeling sad, so playing games can make me happy again. I study a lot, and playing games releasing me from that boredom. It's a great way to spend time and forget about your life, especially when you're not feeling that good about it.

 

I play video games to take my mind off a the things that normally bother me but I have to put up with on a daily basis. The news always has some tragic story on and people I deal with outside don't always improve for the better. Video games to me are a better alternative to going to a counselor and talking about my problems since I can just grab my controller and zone out for a couple of hours until whatever negative feelings I have is gone. Besides, what's not to love when you are managing a Sim family or killing dragons with your bare fists to make armor out of their bones?

 

I play video games for fun as well as nostalgia. As of right now, I'm playing the iOS version of the classic UNO card game called UNO and Friends. This game requires strategy as well as skill to win. You got Boosts to help you, but it's up to you how will you plan your strategy. Of course, you are more likely to lose more games than win, but above all else it is the fun factor that makes UNO and Friends enjoyable. There are tournaments to win as well, and you will have to scramble for the top two positions in the first two rounds, but on the third round it's all or nothing. As always, luck also comes to play, since you may be winning but you will end up losing because you had to draw an unfavorable card.

 

I play video games to spend my free time. As a student, I am always studying. When I got tired doing things related to studying, I always like playing a game because I can release my pressure and take a good break. Then I can start stududying freshly.

 

It's a difficult question... I think it's because i don't have a lot of friends near my house, so the only way i can play and tank with them are over the internet on games. But also, games entertain me a lot.
I started playing games when i was 8 years old, and I still play games everyday, i think i'm really addicted to them. '-'

 

It started off when I was 3 playing Mario on my nintendo all day, I guess it became a habbit. I play video games to fill in empty time.

 

I play videos games for the entertainment it's fun and make me happy and it's good way to forget the stress of life and live your life like the way you wanna it in a good game you can play video game with friend and have fun it's my favorite way to spend my freetime .

 

To spend most of my free time.If you are really good at games like cs:go you can go pro and have a big paycheck.I also feel like I am in a world where people understand me

 

I play because I'm a very anxious introvert person. Playing helps me forget about my problems and also procrastinate. So, yeah, I'd better see a shrink instead of playing . Who knows, we'll see how this changes in the future.

 

Games let me feel relaxed and take my mind of certain tasks. When I come back to a day of hard work- playing games would help sooth the stress and everything I feel. I mostly play FPS type games because it requires some attention and skill. It's an escape from the real world, and playing games when I was younger could help increase my imagination.

 

I've been gaming since I was 3 years old. At first, I played games because it looked like a fun media and I saw older people doing it. Basically, the people I thought were cool in my family, like my aunt and uncle and such, so I played games even those that weren't for my age bracket. After some years, I started playing for the adventure of being in another world and experience the stories to be told. In essence, my reason for playing only expanded from it being fun to just trying to enjoy the work of art that people are privy to being a part of.
