Do you still listen to any of it today?

I was a huge music snob as a teenager. (I was insufferable.) I did love some embarrassing things, though; I loved melodramatic Celtic music like Clannad and Loreena McKennitt. I admit, I still love Loreena McKennitt. (Enya too, sometimes. You can always count on Enya to provide the musical backdrop for a wallowing session.)

It seems a lot of music-obsessed people became that way as a teenager, after discovering a certain band or type of music. It was definitely that way for me. I started reading music discussion boards online, which broadened my horizons tremendously. (I think I even lurked on an AOL gothic music forum. Everybody was so pretentious.) It was a little lonely being the only person in your high school who liked Dead Can Dance and 1950's doo-wop, though.

During my childhood days, I loved fast numbers like other kids. As I grew up I started seriously listening to music and got attached to slow and melodious tunes. Yet in the early teens I paid less attention to lyrics. But as time passed by, I started loving Hindi oldies, particularly romantic songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi. As a teenager and adult, I loved romantic songs most. In those days I used to carry a radio and played Hindi music on Akashvani channel always. Now also my tastes have not changed too much, though I listen philosophical songs a little bit.

Until the age of 14, I was an average type of kid who'd listen to the usual Pop bands -it was in the 80s-Durans, Spandau Ballet, Pet Shop Boys...but one day a kid who was in my class played Deep Purple, and life changed forever; this was just the beginning of my "Metal days": three years of heavy music listening, drinking, walking around down with long hair and leather jackets, and that was when I started to learn guitar; it was a great time of my life but I quit because it was too limiting, I could only listen to Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, and nothing else. After that, I cut my hair and started to go out dancing, wear nice clothes, and my musical tastes changed a lot. It's been ages since those days, and I really don't listen to that kind of music anymore, neither Metal nor 80s Pop; it makes me feel too nostalgic and old.

As a younger teenager I was mostly into pop music. I think Busted was something I liked for example. But by the time I was about 14 my favorite bands mostly consisted of bands like Sum41, Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance. I used to dislike much older music and mostly listened to things that were being released at the time.

Nowadays I don't really tend to listen to those bands as much. Don't get me wrong, I still like some of their songs. However I listen to a lot more variety now. I'll listen to pretty much anything that's on the radio. I also like a lot more 80's music and tend to find myself listening to a mixture of older songs and more recent releases.

I also find that I listen to things I like more often now rather than listening to things that my friends liked.

As a teenager, I love listening to Alternative Rock and Pop Punk. Some of the bands that became my favorite during my teenage years are Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Lost Prophets, and Taking Back Sunday. I grew up listening to Linkin Park, so I also listened to them during my teenage years. I still listen to some of them nowadays.

I listen to a lot of oldies but I used to listen to Nsync and Backstreet boys, but I had a great ear for Maxwell and Boyz II Men. I was born and raised country so my main genre would be country music and I would listen to some of the songs that my friends liked as well. I am a muti-genre listener especially when it comes to love songs. Ican really get into love songs and if it is good I can listen to just about anyone.

As a teenager, I tried all sort of music. I was excited about anything that activated my inner rhythmic vibrations. Rock music was my number one priority, then metal. Whenever I listened to these kinds of vibes, I got excited and thought I could become the number one rock star instantly.

Like Isaiah, my teenage years were full of different styles and singer. I listened mostly to rock and alternative music, a taste that still continues to this day. I also used to listen to a lot of pop since my only source of new sounds were the TV channels, as I didn't have internet at home back then. In my late years as a teen I discovered the magic of japanese music and I still listen to j-pop and j-rock on occasion.

Crowded House - still like them but some of the hits/radio play tracks seem boring now because I heard them so much back then.

Used to really love Oasis, right until Be Here Now got previewed on the radio and was a disappointment after all the critical hype.
They were the first band I was obsessed with and that album felt like a betrayal. Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger still sound special.

Was also obsessed with the Beatles and solo especially John Lennon, burnt out on them for a while but still love them now, just more sensibly, and don't focus on them to the exclusion of other music.

When I was a teenager, I love listening to love songs. Those old love songs was something to me. The melodies and the lyrics really overwhelms my heart and brings me into a different dimensions. That was also the reason why I pursue learning music. Now I am a musician and I play guitar, bass, some piano and drums. I play not for my glory but for the glory of the one who created me and blessed me with these talents. I will honor God through my music.

I'm a music junkie so I really listen to any kinds or genres of music and I love it regardless of the genre, As long as it hits me emotionally then I'm gonna feel in love with that certain type of music, but typically the music that I really prefer when I was a teenager were love songs, acoustic songs, and pop songs. The melodies and harmonies of the songs are the keys that makes me love the music. As what I've said, if it hits me emotionally then I'm gonna feel in love with the song and I will play it over and over again.

I am actually a teenager right now and I love a little bit of everything. When it comes to modern music, my favorite artists are Ariana Grande and Drake. I am not a huge fan of most of the rap right now. I also hate the promiscuity promoted in a lot of these songs. I do enjoy a lot of older music. I have fallen in love with the Mamma Mia soundtrack and Queen. I believe that there is good music that can be found during any era and genre.

Even though I'm not from Japan, I'm in love with Japanese music. I watch anime and I always listening to the opening and ending songs. If I find a Japanese song I like, I'll memorize the full song and listen to it on repeat for weeks. There are actually 4 songs I listen on repeat for at least a year now and it's from Vocaloid.

As a teenager, I listened to different types of songs. There are plenty of boy band groups that I have followed and I bought some of their albums. Among these groups are Backstreet Boys, N’Sync and Boys II Men. Most of their songs are categorized as Pop or Ballad. Way back then, I also listen to new wave songs every morning while taking a bath. My favorites are Just got lucky, Buttercup and Head over heels. Before I sleep, I tune the radio to old love songs. Some of my favorites are love songs sung by Carpenters, Sergio Mendes and Air Supply.

I am a teenager now and to be honest i fell in love with the acoustic music. It just feels right to listen to them when wanting to relax. Though sometimes I kick it off with a bit of R&B, but mostly I listen to acoustic vibes.
