    Here's what money can do.

A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.
    -Ecclesiastes 10:19

See? Even the Bible says that money is the answer for everything. If you have money, you can have what you want. You can buy food, shelter, EVERYTHING indeed! If it's the other way, you might lose something. There is a Filipino song that entails the use of money, "Oh, giliw ko mahal kita habang ikaw ay mayro'ng pera. At kung sakaling maubos na, iiwanan kitang nag-iisa." That's the main purpose of money to human. Sometimes, no money... no honey!

And as such, if you do not have money, you can have no friends at all. (Read Proverbs 14:20). The Bible says that money is a defence. You will be kept from being harmed by other people. You will be secured and protected. (Read Ecclesiastes 7:12)

The money is important. But if you whole-heartedly love money, and make it as god, it's wrong; it's barely bad! It is the root of all evil. (Read 1 Timothy 6:10)

Money is not bad. It will not put you to harm. Just remember, you should not love money; use it in good purposes instead. That's the main purpose of having money.

I certainly agree that Money itself is not evil. It is man's greed, ignorance, malice perspective about it that makes money evil. For me money is like any tool, instrument that helps us sustain our needs, it needs careful handling or management. We need know how to control or manage it or get to be enslave by it.

I would agree to a certain extent. We don't want to use certain passages or scripture from the bible to justify that money isn't bad. Clearly, it could be interpreted as metaphorical but money can be used for both bad and good, it is a broken system though. What we have is not necessarily money and it's currencies, there's a big difference in currencies and money because money should be universal, currencies aren't universal.

Yes, I agreed that we need money to sustain and meet our necessity, the dangerous part is when we start making it our God, and forget who is supplying our income. The almighty God himself.

Interesting fact: Tithes in the bible was never referring to money, Tithing was always food. This food was either eaten by the tither and his family, or it was given to the poor and widows. This was done so that everyone in the land had enough. This is the biblical view of tithing. The current church view is way off. Tithes were not money.

The root of all evil is the love of money. Money is helpful, it can feed the poor, clothe children, provide a home for the homeless and various other good works. But, we must remember that money is nothing but paper with ink printed on it and given sentimental value. Yeah, I admit it feels good to have money in my pocket to buy things but a person's whole reason for living should not be to acquire money, like I said before it's just paper with ink printed on it. Obtaining money should not be a person's life goal and it should not be idolized or replace God. We are to store up treasures in Heaven where moths, dust and rust does not corrupt or where thieves break in and steal. After all what's the point of accumulating vast measures of wealth when after you die your kids are just going to fight over and take everything you built and will enjoy what you couldn't.

I don't know why most spiritual people think that money is evil or that it is holy to be poor. I'm also a spiritual person (Christian, particularly) but I don't agree with such. The bible says the love of money (not money itself) is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10) but people use this scripture to teach that it is noble to be poor. I totally disagree with that. What has done more harm and brought more misery to millions of people around the world? Is it having money in abundance or having no money for basic needs like food, shelter, health care and so on?

Personally, I express myself better with money. I enjoy getting gifts to appreciate the awesome people I'm surrounded with just when they least expect it. I say money is good and I like it!

Well put, @Freedom Writer Making money, indeed, is a spiritual activity. The human soul and spirit moves us in the way we make judgments, reasoning, moral decisions, making indispensable acts of kindness towards fellow human beings with souls--which machines cannot replace. Any business where money is the pursuit to be had is an expression of our God-given ability to earn it and help do works of kindnesses and charity.

    Thanks for this good post!
