For those who have a Christian background you are well familiar with the biblical concept of hell. My thing is if there is this supreme god of infinite love and peace why would this god who always and forever forgives sinners and all the sins they commit create such a terrible eternal place called hell? It just does not make sense to me. What are your thoughts about this concept of hell?

One could argue that the fire and brimstone that is preached, and the threats of burning in hell, as well as the idea of the pitchfork-wielding demons are more for fear than anything else. Why else would people listen to someone telling them that they cannot perform natural, biological functions with impunity? In my opinion, the traditional view of hell doesn't exist - it's a story used to make people afraid.

I propose hell isn't really a place. What if hell is simply a lack of the divine presence? Have you ever loved someone that couldn't be near you - that empty feeling, that feeling of loss, that hole in your soul that you feel when your love is apart from you? That, to me, is hell - and just imagine what a hell it would be to truly love a God and you are not within his divine presence?

    Hello,
As I am a very religious Christian and I study my Bible and other religious concepts often I can try my best to explain hell to you. There was once an angel in heaven, God's most beautiful angel, Lucifer. Lucifer (AKA Satan/Devil) started asking God, "Why should you do this? I think this way would be better. That isn't good!" So God finally got tired of the complaining and asking of questions, since He knows all good rather than wrong. Lucifer turned against God and then God created hell for Lucifer and his demons. However, when people are placed on this earth, they are given a choice. They have a choice to go God's way, or Satan's way. If they choose to repent and ask for forgiveness then they shall be forgiven, but if they do not repent nor ask for forgiveness then they shall not be forgiven and sentenced to hell.
God says that he not only forgives but he "Forgives 70 times 7" which means that he forgives as many times as you need Him too. Just as long as down deep inside your heart you mean every word of asking for forgiveness.

I hope I answered your question successfully. If you have anymore questions, I would be more than happy to answer.

I have a great deal of thoughts about heaven and hell . If god is so loving and great why starvation for a small child that never had a chance ? People believe in free will and hell for those who don't follow god's ways . I don't see how a infant baby should suffer , starve , go to hell because original sin wasn't washed away .

I think you're a free thinker. I am skeptical to believe that there is heaven, but I believe that hell really exists in Science.

Anyone who believes in heaven cannot argue that hell isn't real or vice versa. One belief of something should not be clouded by its opposite simply because the idea does not sit well with you. Anyone saying its a story to me is misguided. Just because you don't understand it does not make it less real. This can be said the same about love. Just because you have not received it does not make it any less real people.
Heaven and hell are real and whether you accept it or not, one of them will be your destination in the end whether you like it or not. It is sad to see people speculate about this and then go on to believe about scientific teachings which is a very messed up ideology brought about by someone who was too ignorant to accept the truth.
Anyway, the choice is individual. Accept it or dent it, one day your choice will judge you.

I happen to be one of those Christians that would be excommunicated, in a heartbeat, for some of my beliefs. I've spent considerable time studying all the belief systems, from Hinduism right through to the various mythologies that have existed over the ages. This may be hard for some to fathom, but all religions and mythologies reveal the very same story of man's relation to God and the universe. Just expressed by a different language and culture at various points in time.

All religions and even spiritualists believe in the existence of a hellish underworld. People who have had near death experiences and even those who astral project, have come across demonic entities and hellish realms. And yes, there is not just one hell but many infernal principalities on the other side. I'm not trying to scare you or creep you out but we do exist within a layered multiverse, not all layers are created equal.
