That means no meat, no sweets, and no junk foods! Can you do it? :)

There was a week in a month that I used to practice vegetarianism - vegetables and fruits only plus dairy products like milk and buter. But that practice was connected to my religion. As a way of life, veggans are missing a lot in terms of flavor. Good food are nomally composed of meat or sea food so I guess I cannot come to terms with that.

I don't think I can do it, even if a really enjoy some vegetarian meal from time to time. I know that having to much meat and dairy products is not healthy, so I try my best to vary my diet and keep it balanced. But I have to admit I just love chocolate to much, I will never be able to give up sweets completely

Absolutely not! As bad as they say it is, I am a meat lover, and could never go for very long without eating it. I know all about the research, and the studies, and the bad things meat allegedly can do to our bodies, and I just don't care. That's not exactly true; I do care. I just grew up on a farm, eating meat and vegetable, and I never saw anyone suffer for it. So I'm sort of skeptical of all those studies. Besides, it's just so good! Nothing like that juicy protein!

Yes, I can consider it. I began practicing vegetarianism about 4 months ago. However, I still slip up with eating foods that are processed and have animal products baked into it. My eventual goal is to become a raw vegan but I still have a long way to go.

One argument that made the transition easier is that if you cannot eat meat raw and without any seasoning then maybe you real don’t have a taste for it. If you want to kick the habit try eating boiled meat without any seasoning. If you can’t do it consistently then maybe your carving for meat is an illusion.

With a large variety of fruits, vegetables and seasonings to choose from you can easily satisfy your meat and sugar cravings with the right combinations.

Camilleraon, I can and have considered it. Still, I am no closer to being a vegetarian. As with most things I think it calls for discipline and I fall down in that area. By my own estimation, I am about twenty pounds overweight and a vegetarian lifestyle could surely help me to address that problem. People here where I live have a way of saying ' the hardest thing is to know',but it has been my experience that sometimes 'the hardest thing is to do'.

I applaud those who have made the plunge and stuck to this way of living. I have only heard good things about adopting this lifestyle. I trust I can gradually make the transition and if not become a vegetarian, adopt a more sensible, consistent approach to eating. Who wants to be forced to be a vegetarian because you are presented with a life or death situation? I don't want to be that person.

I am pure vegetarian and enjoy vegetarian food. Basically, from scientific point of view also our body is designed in such a manner that only vegetarian food is suitable for us. Considering our digestion system it has been proved that vegetarian food takes approximately 2 to 3 hours for digestion, whereas non-vegetarian food takes more than 24 hours for proper digestion. In some cases it may even take 72 hours to digest. This has very ill effect on our health. As bad digestion is one of the major factor for most of the diseases, it is therefore wise to be vegetarian. Although most of them will not agree with me on this point.

Well I did a University Course related to health, and there are lots of things that some members said that I dont agree, and that scientifically is proved the contrary. I can say that our body is not designed ONLY for vegetarian food, that doesnt make any sense. A diet where you eat meat and vegetables is much more complete and it gives all that your body needs, as for vegetarian food, you can still have all that your body needs but I can assure that you will not have the REAL and ADVISED minimum requirements so easily...

I've been a very strict vegetarian since childhood. I do not take any vitamin supplements or medications etc. I simply eat healthy foods, exercise and avoid too much dairy. I do not lack in any vitamin. I am an ideal weight (according to my height and age) and I have a healthy body.

No, I can't behave it as I am a non-vegetarian. I enjoy chicken and can't resist it. I also like to eat desserts, but can still gain a control over it. Thither are many vegetarians in this world and sometimes I wonder how do they totally live on vegetarian food. For me, non-vegetarian food is a must as it brightness my mood. I am feasting on it since childhood, so I can never quit it. I love meat too, but I don't like sea food as I am sensitized to it. But, chicken dishes are my all time favorite. Sometimes, when I get bored of non-veg, I eat vegetarian food for a change, but can never totally quit it.

I have tried to do it before and am leaning toward it. I think if I put my mind to it I can do it. I did feel healthier when I tried it once before. I don't think I missed the meat, I think it was more of a mind frame that I needed the meat. I wanted it more than my body actually needing it.

It is not hard to be a vegetarian from as long as my mind is with it, but it is very expensive and so it demands a lot. Note- This is the best way to eat practically. The bible declares "that God gave us every herb bearing seed, and tree which there is fruit of a tree yielding seed." I am living in Jamaica where I am in the tropics. This is a small country that have a lot of Rasta-Vegetarians. They mostly survive on legumes, Vegetable and Tofu. In addition, Jamaica is home to much more vegetables and fruits, some of which are cook, and used to make juice. One of the new taste that I am getting use to is Callaloo juice. This was made by my brother.

You can call me a carnivore @camilleraon.

Once I tried to follow a vegetarian diet for a couple of days in a week, but badly failed. My taste buds revolted and I gave up. Ever since, neither tried nor wish to… in the future. Being a foodie, I do not want to miss out the variety on my platter.

I have already thought about being a vegetarian some years ago and I also tried it for a little bit. I'm definitely sure that I can do it for a long time because I am very health conscious. Eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables is what is so important for good health. I've been thinking a lot lately about going vegetarian for some months and seeing how I feel. If I did stop eating meat for good it would be a big change due to the fact that I have been a meat eater for a long time. It will be best for me to start out eating a vegetarian diet for a few days but still eat meat during the week and then go without the meat for months.

I think it is not easy to be a vegetarian, because we have eaten meat and other meat products from our early childhood. Our organism is used to it and we can't change our ration immediately. Once my friend said that he can easily become a vegetarian and changed his diet at once, but he faced serious difficulties in digestion, fell spirit and as a result returned to the meat.
That' s why if we want to be a vegetarian we should eliminate meat, poultry and seafood from our diet gradually. If you pass to a vegetarian diet within few months rather than few weeks, you will be more favorable to a new lifestyle.

I could go without meat because I don't eat a lot anyway but I do love sweets and would probably cheat! Is it really healthy to have no meat at all? I always thought that a certain amount was necessary to keep our iron level up. I love fruit and vegetables so I wouldn't have a problem with that but I think I would need to look into it more before I made a decision.

I was a vegetarian for a long time, until I got pregnant with my second child. My physician didn't like my diet and wanted me to incorporate more meat, fish, and other food items I wasn't eating. So, I complied.

The first time I had a hamburger it tasted pretty darn good. But, shortly after swallowing a few bites my tummy reacted in a bad way. Eventually, my body adjusted to eating meat and food items vegetarians don't eat.

About three years ago, I stopped eating red meat. I eat a lot of vegetables and fruits (eating clean) and will eat a small amount of turkey or chicken.

I eat mostly vegetarian. Ever since I was in high school, I didn't eat that much meat.

I eat junk food once in a while, but I try to avoid it as much as I can. I know eating junk food is a big problem for most people.

I usually eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches throughout the day. I also drink milk with my sandwiches. The rest of my diet basically consists of vegetables, eggs, and rice. Eggs and milk are my main protein sources.

I can't live without meat. I just love beef and i have to eat beef either for lunch or dinner. Where i come from, no meal is complete without a portion of meat. As for junk food, i find them irresistible. And i don't know why there is so much fuss about junk food and yet they taste so good!
