I have always wondered how many meals I should have in a day. I have grown up with four meals in a day which include, breakfast, lunch, fruit snack and supper.

Recently, I have heard different views from people, some say 3 meals, others 4 and others 6. I am now very confused. How many meals should I have in a day?

The number of meals you should eat in a day should be based on your dietary and nutritional needs. If you are trying to gain, you will need enough calories which probably means more meals. On the contrary, if you are trying to lose weight, you will need less calories which either smaller meals or less meals. Also, you needs will vary if you are active. Always be sure to be safe and make sure you are eating enough.

I'm also confused at first but as I learned what my health goal is, it became easier.

My main goal right now is to improve my digestion because I'm usually constipated and I have irritable bowel sybdrome. A month ago, I started recording my diet including the time I take my meals. By doing that, I was able to know what meal time works for me and I tried to fit it to my busy schedule.
