Most education doesn't happen inside a classroom.

When we were kids, we were taught to do better in school and nothing's wrong with that. But growing up, I learned that education inside a classroom is good but the kind of education that really matters happens outside it. Most things that I need to learn in life, I learned outside the classroom. I learned compassion, love, patience and most of all honesty and fairness, outside school. I also learned to stand for myself and not give in to pressure and do the things that I really want to achieve rather than being pressured to do something I'm not happy to do. What's your take in this?

Hello, Marcmelit1. I agree with you that there are so many things we learn outside the classroom. I think the most enjoyable part of going to school is that your friends are waiting for you there and a lot of fun will surely follow. Going to school, and in that classroom in particular, for me is like an avenue for real life experiences. The classroom might not be the most interesting place to be in, but knowing that something is going to happen after each class, is a great feeling.

I feel the same way as well. I agree with what marcmelit1 is saying, but Jacquez Sparroe is also right. Part of the reason why I want to go to school is because of my friends. My friends are my motivation to study hard.

But learning inside a classroom is important. There are a lot of things to learn and discover outside the classroom. And that is because learning is continuous. But formal (or guided) education can only be taught in the classroom. A bird can't go far from her nest if she can't fly well. I think learning is like that. The foundations of our education came from inside the classroom.

I agree with you every education is not necessary to be learn from only classroom. Classroom setting actually is a formal setting where teacher control them and teach in limited time as per given period. Moral values , other creativity, sports, socialization and etc are learn outside the classroom. Actually sometimes I feel classroom setting is like one supervisors and do and don't instruction setting.. Many students become passive rather than becoming active.

I agree with you perfectly well, infact I think, that the first education you get is from your house, then from school and people with whom you talk and also from the media like the TV. You keep on learning something new everyday.

I agree, I believe that the purpose of school is to prepare you not only for college, but also for the outside world. However, there is so much more to learn outside of school, including how to apply what school taught you to solve problems and questions when you aren't in a classroom. Unfortunately many people believe they will never use what they learned in grade school once they graduate. I believe if the schools taught differently and gave realistic problems or at least explain how and why you may use the lesson outside of school more people will pay attention and want to learn now that they have a reason to learn. As of right now people learn at schools, but don't feel a need to retain the information because they don't see it will help them after school. In reality we use a lot of our scholarly education outside of a classroom, for example, when you have a question you follow the scientific method, not to mention, maths, physics, and English is all around us. So in short I believe education in a classroom is important, but does not provide you with everything you need to learn, it only aids the learning process.
