Imagine not having any online jobs, no place to research or google for information. The early man survived without internet. Some people in the modern age choose not to use internet, not because they lack access but due to an array of reasons like access to sin. Just like any modern technology, the internet has the good side and the bad side depending on the attitude while tackling this topic. I believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

The world without the internet?! Sound like me without cigarettes. The world without internet would mean, healthier people, cultivated people "People that read a lot, know a lot" and not just about wars and sex. We don't need that in our daily lives, it all comes with experience, experimenting makes you better, not reading about it. People that read different stuff will gain a great knowledge about general subjects, and will be able to have a decent conversation, argue about things they know about they're right. Reading stories, books, will develop your ability to write, will inspire you. You will be more creative, will have a great imagination. You will be able to put your kids to sleep by telling them a story with the light turned off, so you won't have to complain about being tired and them not going to sleep. Reading books will help you more in real life than reading an article about war or watching a movie. Although there are a lot of advantages about the internet; it keeps you up to date with everything 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Connects you with people that are on the other side of this little "Big" planet we live on, let's you quick search on how to make a specific meal or anything. Even by playing a lot of games will help you in the future, even tho your parents will tell you off; they don't think it does help you; but by playing games, you will start developing "smart thinking", strategies, ideas, imagination, creativity; Some games inspire you. All of these are a good lesson about business strategies, management and so on. By playing games you will start to learn how to solve problems instead of making them worse. There is a great deal of things that you can learn from playing games, rather than reading or watching a movie on the internet. Books help you develop your real life knowledge, while games help you develop real life skills, of course, not all the skills required for a job, but all the skills required for a business. To work for someone you will have to study hard at school and go on to higher education. But if you're a smart man, you can learn from games, what others won't learn in their entire life.

I would have to go back to stalking my ex outside of his home. I haven't gotten a single restraining order since Facebook and I do not want to go back to that!

I try to go back to a time where I didn't grab my phone to figure something out in a heartbeat. I couldn't go a whole day without having to Google something ! I do think it's important not to depend on the internet so much but it sure makes life a lot easier !

Young people would get bored with it would look for a job and would do physical activities.
The children would play football, run, etc...
More would study instead of games to entertain the Internet or other things. now everything is based on being "connected" and I love internet, but I think that if I had not internet would not be a chaos, because until the 90s many people lived very well without it.

If the world had no internet access whatsoever, the world would be totally different. I feel like in some ways it would be bad, but good in other ways. However, overall, I feel like it would be better in more ways to live with it than live without it. Let me tell you my reasons why.
I believe our world is better with access to the internet because of various ways of communication. Say we have friends whom we see in person a lot. Then, they all of a sudden had to move away to a different town, or even another country. How would we keep in touch with them? Sure, you can write letters to each other, which is the old-fashioned way of keeping in touch. Everyone would be keeping in touch with their friends whom live far away by writing handwritten letters and mailing them out.
Books are another thing. Some people now use eBooks to read instead of regular books. The eBook can be an expensive tool, but it may be cheaper than constantly purchasing books. In colleges, some students use eBooks for whatever textbooks are available on it. This way, they can save money on the actual textbook.
Another thing about living in a world without access to the internet is that it would be difficult, or next to impossible, to get many tasks done efficiently. For example, office jobs require data entry and invoicing jobs and deliveries. How would it be possible to write out all of this information by hand? You can write out anything by hand, but it would involve usage of a lot of paper, pens, ink for calligraphy writing, and pencils. Plus, it could be easy to lose something. Putting information on a computer can be very eco-friendly since it saves a lot of paper, which means we save a lot of trees. It is also much easier to send emails rather than mail out letters. Letters take longer to receive, whereas emails get sent and get received right away.
Social media is another way people communicate with friends and co-workers. Facebook is a common site where people make business pages if they have their own business. Posting things like images and links to blogs can draw in traffic. You can communicate with people about their interests in your business. It would be much harder to do this without the internet. So, therefore, it can be useful to get a business going.
Overall, a world without the internet sounds like our world would not be no where near as advanced in making a living in today's world. The way society is today about technology, it makes the internet look like the soul source of information. I do believe that the world would be much more complicated to live in because of jobs, communication, and research of information. I am all for internet use.

I feel awful saying it but I've come to rely on the Internet. Between work and home, I spend about 12-14 hours a day on my computer, phone or tablet. I use the Internet for everything (email, social media, research, entertainment, etc.)

There are definitely positives and negatives to a world without the Internet. My family goes on vacation to the mountains every Fall and we have a strict "unplugged" policy. Absolutely no electronics allowed. Everyone seems to go through cell phone withdrawl the first day or so, but after that we actually start to enjoy each other's company. I definitely feel a sense of relief just knowing that I won't have to look at another work email for 2 whole weeks!

The downside is that life without the Internet is just more difficult. We might be enjoying a relaxing vacation but then we end up lost and don't have our GPS to lead the way. We have to open up an actual map. This could be seen as a positive for some but not for me. It takes me about 20 minutes just to figure out where we are on the map!

I think the Internet is a wonderful resource but I definitly see how people rely on it way too much. I definitely monitor the kid's usage. I worry about them the most. They need to be outside playing and not sitting in front of a screen all day. They need to understand that libraries do still exist. They need to know that their world won't come crashing down if they don't check their Facebook page every hour. There simply needs to be a balance, but of course that's easier said than done.

Too not have internet is not a bad thing, Internet has been around since the launch of the World Wide Web from 1991, so before that time we as a civilization did not have internet or a need for it. When I was 14 years old, I had the Penny Saver classified ads as a tool for searching jobs and to find any other resource I needed. Internet is needed now for this era because everyone has moved towards it. I agree with what Kikofran said,
"until the 90's many people lived very well without it".

Internet is a tool that has made our lives much easier, you can easily find information regardless of where you are or what you want to know, you will always find something for you.
however, nowadays internet is taken as a need instead of a tool, people think they can not do anything without internet, but that's completely false. Some years ago, the concept of internet was not so globalised and not many people had access to it, so, they had to look for information through reading books or asking someone else.
nowadays, finding information about something is so easy that we can barely remember what we read, because we have gotten used to read and hold things in our minds for a short period of time. Thanks to the internet, things such as communicating with people from all over the world and getting to know what happened in other places are possible, but there are things that are damaging our lives (depends on how you use this TOOL).

The accessibility of information provided by the internet is unbelievably useful. When researching a topic, I remember the first place I would look would be an encyclopedia. If what I wanted wasn't in there, the task of finding anything out suddenly became really difficult. Following books, digital resources like Encarta became available but they offered nothing close to the breadth and depth that the internet makes available.

I sometimes wonder how much advancement in academia can be attributed to the internet. I regularly look up research papers in journals and can find detailed research on a very specific topic in minutes. It would be simply impossible to find what you wanted without a digital resource to search through. Even if I had physical copies of the journal, I wouldn't be able to read the whole thing to find the one paper that contains a particular phrase. It can only be a good thing that so many people have so much information available to them. I am becoming increasingly worried that the capacity of such an incredible resource is being stiffled by regulating bodies.

The title of this thread makes me feel so old, waheehee. You see, my first job was as a computer programmer using the IBM S/370 which was as large as 2 refrigerators. And that's only the CPU (central processing unit). Do I need to continue and reveal my age? Waheehee.

I didn't imagine that there would be an internet that we can access at home. Back in 1980, when I handled my first Apple computer, it was using diskettes which were easily corrupted - data is erased by itself. And in 1990, when the internet was veering its countenance in this part of the world, I felt excited so I tried to gather information like email - electronic mail. What is that? And what exactly is www or the internet.

So much for history. Now the internet is a reality and I thank God that I am still alive to experience it.

A world without Internet is actually possible, but why would you want to? I once lived in a small village in Africa with no electricity or running water. It was tough enough to get daily chores done so there was no time to worry about what was going on in the outside world. But having access to the internet and being able to engage with people across the world is amazing. For my job now, sometimes I skype people on several continents in the same day - you can't beat it!

I grew up without the internet. It didn't exist back then. For that reason, I have no problems at all imagining a world without it. In fact, I often dream about the "good old days" when I was able to communicate with real people, in real life. We didn't need a computer or social websites to have a good time. We had each other, and virtual profiles were unnecessary. As much as the internet has improved many aspects of today's existence, I long for the days when I wasn't affected by the constant electronic impulses from the computers around me.
Even these days, when the majority of people depend on the internet, I prefer to only ever use it for things that I can't avoid, such as fulfilling certain aspects of my job. It doesn't really occur to me often to turn on my computer for recreational purposes. I much prefer to go on a long bike ride and catch up with friends for real life chats and interactions.

With this technology in age, it is superficially to turn on your electronic device and search anything on the internet. The simplicity catches everyone's attention and makes life dull, boring. Internet should be terminated regardless of what people think because it only takes from society, not gives. How much peace the world would be without the internet, right? Imagine for just a second, living and interacting on a true platform of what we as human beings are made to be. There needs not exterior sources to infiltrate the neatness of human beings. Our Creator has given us everything that we ever needed.

Quick question. Why exactly are you using the internet if you see it as a force for evil?

Any ideas indicted as a threat to society can still be fixed for a better cause. Meaning ideas are sets of derivatives that may independently determine its own moral course. What needs to be done is changing the core structure and the purpose usage of that particular idea so that can become beneficial for society. The internet has become a "force for evil" due to the fact it has drifted away from its basic principles. Its purpose was never meant to harm us in such a way that new reformation may arise within society. Lets take a look at what the NSA and government agencies around the world are practically and intentionally doing. They are using the internet as a mean to harm and violate citizens' rights and privacy. The internet has become a mechanic system to keep people at their feet. To be continue..

I survived well without the internet. I used phonebooks to look up addresses and actually studied in libraries where there was an array of wonderful books to learn from. I played outside for hours with friends and enjoyed board games with my family. Still, there was once a generation without the things I had; for example, TV, telephone, video games, pagers, etc. Moral of the story; you can't miss what you don't have.

We survived without internet in the past, so obviously it's possible. But now, since we already know how amazing the internet is and all the things we can use it for, it would be really really hard to come back to what it used to be like before.
I love the internet and I can no longer imagine my life without it. Or maybe I just don't want to. And I hope I'll never get to find out what life without internet looks like again.

I cannot even imagine a world without internet. I am so much addicted to internet for my daily life, be it banking, shopping or networking. But there is a brighter side too. If there is no internet, job opportunities will increase drastically. Most of the banks, telecom providers would need more employees to get their works done. And at the same, there will be unimaginable delays and errors in daily transactions.

There is no doubt that internet has made our life easier and at the same time, internet based crimes are rising day by day. It is like two sides of a coin.
