I am enjoying doing Yoga. I knew about benefits of yoga long before, but last 3 years only I doing regularly. In my early days, i occasionally do yoga and I think it is only for body fitness.

I don't see anyone tell that what is the benefit of doing yoga logically. Then I came across the Yoga institution called "Isha Yoga ", it is located near to my place ( Coimbatore, India ). They clearly explain benefits logically.

Then only I got the understanding that the Yoga not only an exercise and also it is preparation for keeping mind equanamity . By keeping my mind calm, I able to do my work well and my thinking process become better.
Now Yoga become my routine and part of my Lifestyle. The time I spend doing yoga is the foundation to do well all my other works.

There are many types of exercise, but I prefer doing cardiovascular exercise like running, biking, and others. I mostly run because we have a park here nearby our place which is really great. There are a lot of attractions, trees surrounding the park so that is a good thing for me. I go out early in the morning to run or jog, but there are times that I will only ride bicycle as my morning exercise. Let us make it a habit to exercise early in the morning or a certain time in a day so that we will be fit and healthy. I have never tried doing yoga, but they say that it is really good so good to know if you are doing it yourself.

I've tried to practice yoga, I found very good. Do not do, due to the free time I have that wasn't so much.
I can share 6 things that I know the Yoga do:

    Improves sleep
With a growing percentage of people who suffer from different degrees of insomnia, this benefit of yoga is a feature often overlooked. Practice a few times a week helps to calm the nervous system and improve sleep.

    Improves posture
Due to the fact that Yoga strengthens your core, you will soon notice that your posture is improved by practicing it for a few weeks.

    Relieves stress
One of the known benefits of yoga is that if you practice Yoga regularly, your stress levels are reduced. It is a part of the routine that asks you to clear your mind and focus on your breathing and body. As a result, stress reactions decrease.

    Help to lose weight
Yoga can help you lose weight and keep it, if combined with a healthy diet and as part of a regular exercise program.

    Increase sexual performance
Several yoga poses send blood flow directly to the pelvic region, intensifying the desire and sensitivity. Movements that require balance and abdominal contraction can strengthen your core because of the focus on the pelvic muscles. Brings awareness of the whole body also increases self-confidence and makes it safer.

    Increase muscle tone
In addition to obtaining and maintaining a healthy weight, Yoga can also help build lean muscle mass, toning and defining the existing muscles.

I am definitely a yoga girl. I actually liked reading through this post because all this time I've been doing yoga I don't always think about the benefits of it. I like to do it as a light form of fitness and to increase my flexibility. But when I start my week with yoga I notice my week goes by a lot smoother. I usually do a Sunday morning practice, those are the best yoga teachers btw. I always feel like I'm ready to tackle my work week after taking that class. But I also like to hit the weights throughout the week as well. And take a Pilates class. So I have a nice mix of things I like to do. I'm not big on cycling or running though. A bit too much cardio for me. My goal is to gain weight not lose it.

for me any of them that will help me get in sharp and are really hard to do. Most people want something that is easy but, for me I know that the harder that the workout is the better in the end it will be. So bring it on that's what I say.

There are plenty of different types of exercises that work different parts of the body. For some people exercise seems tedious whether it involves getting up and going to the gym or working out at home. I personally love the treadmill, it's the only thing that works for me to lose weight. That's because we all have different bodies and different exercises work for us.

My favorite kind of exercise is low impact exercise. I enjoy palates and yoga. Free weight lifting is also enjoyable but not always convenient. I like focusing on my torso muscles. My main goal is flattening my stomach.

My favourite type of exercise is playing badminton. I played to a high level in my younger days, although I just play socially now. I also enjoy walking, although probably more the social aspect than the actual activity!

I enjoy half an hour brisk walk in the morning everyday. While walking I wear supportive shoes with a cushioned heel and supportive midsole to feel comfortable. I keep myself hydrated by drinking water when walking.

The feeling that I get from walking at the peak of dawn is incomparable; it's magical inhaling clean fresh air while the world is asleep. Jumping rope have also become one of my favorite exercises as I usually do this with my children who put me to the limit and leaves me in an overdrive. Exercising should be fun and this should never become monotonous.

I enjoy old fashion push ups. They help me with my stamina and toning of my body. Plus, you can do them wherever you like.

For me its push ups. You can do them for free without any equipment wherever you want and there are several different ways to make them harder to do if a regular one becomes to easy.

I have found out that simple walking is the best for me. Also thai chi is fantastic for me. I never liked body building or hard exercises but that is my way. I am thou sure that any form of sport is good. Depends what do you like that you should do.

I have to admit my favorite exercise is taking a brisk walk in the park. There are so many ways that I enjoy my workout. Sometimes I walk quietly alone, or I may listen to my favorite upbeat music. Several times during the week, I walk with a few of my close friends to past the time and we catch up on what's going on in each others lives. I know walking may not seem like a high impact exercise, however it works for me and the proof is shown in my waistline!

My favorite type of exercise is either some form of weight lifting or some type of body weighted exercise. Anything that involves a lot of physical strength and anything that helps me avoid doing cardio in a normal fashion. With my body type I really benefit from putting my muscles under stress, not only does it make my muscle growth kick into action, my ability to lose weight sky rockets. This doesn't mean I don't do cardio, I just choose to avoid it more often than not. :D

I prefer walking for nearly 20 to 25 minutes daily. It is beneficial for bones and improves the blood circulation of our physical structure. Due to my busy schedule, I don't get adequate time to practice a particular exercise. Walking is always a convenient option and so its my favorite. Regular walking burns enough calories and give speedy results. If followed by a diet, we can definitely produce better results. I thought about gymnastics many times, but I am scared as it can give terrible results if left in between. I don't want to get myself hooked on machines. I will definitely think to join yoga classes once I determine my time convenience. Only for now, walking is my favorite workout.

I too love doing yoga every day. Now it is a part of my daily routine. What makes yoga different from other forms of exercise is that it even tones up your mind and internal organs. There are a lot of breathing exercises in yoga which really rejuvenates body and soul. I feel highly energetic when I complete my daily yoga session.

I personally feel that it is better to take advice from a professional trainer before starting yoga on your own. For example if you have a back pain, some yoga postures will only deteriorate the situation. There are a lot of people who are doing yoga as a remedy for their illness.

Like a lot of others who have replied to this thread, I also enjoy practising yoga and going on long walks. I feel yoga really helps me maintain my flexibility and is a quick and is quick and easy to add to my daily routine. As for walking, it's also very simple but the benefits are tremendous!

Like Mehak, I enjoy going on the treadmill as well. Going on it for a long period of time makes me feel really energised! I find listening to music while exercising on the treadmill makes the experience even better.
