Have you ever experience doing some of this strategies just to memorize lessons for an upcoming quiz or exam?

    1. Outlining
I am doing this with lessons that are not summarized and require reading. I do this with lessons that whatever effort I put on to summarize them in one note I just can't do it. So I just outline important details then go back with it again to re read what I have outlined.

    2. The red ball pen strategy
I am doing this strategy on lessons that was given via photocopies. It makes me feel blank seeing photocopies which are always on black and white so I tend to use red or even any ballpens with attractive colors. I had learned this strategy on my humanities teacher when she said that the blackboard shouldn't be green because green relaxes the mind so you cannot exercise remembering what was written on the blackboard oftens and it's true for me so I had assoicated it with this strategy

    3. Small notes
These are notes written in a small cardboard or construction paper combined using a keychain loop or thick thread.

The red pen is a very nice way of remembering things you have to do. So is a yellow highlighter and using flash cards. small notes are nice if you are in a hurry.

I've received advice about the red ball pen strategy from one of my teachers too! I think it works very well especially because red is such a striking colour. Like Nicole, I also believe yellow highlighters are a great way for revising any materials learnt in class. Actually, I believe that using a wide range of coloured highlighters (e.g., yellow, red, pink, blue, green) will help out even more! I prefer highlighting different key points in different colours because it allows for easier memorisation.

Rather than small notes, I like to take large pages of notes for every class. That way, when it gets closer to exam time, I have all the information I need right at my fingertips. However, it does get pretty tiring at times.

I hear outlining is also a great method to use. I don't prefer it though because I find it can be quite time-consuming.

Thank you for all the tips!

I would like to share one of my own. I think another great strategy for memorising lessons is to create your own quizzes and do them in your spare time. I believe self-revision is very important because it improves your long-term memory.
