Recently, I have started hitting the gym more often. My motivation comes from watching local as well as national sports. These professional athletes just have such amazing bodies and their skills are amazing. I know I probably will never reach their athletic abilities, but at least I will be able to stay fit and healthy.

What motivates you to workout? Let's make a big list so if someone is not feeling motivated to workout, they can visit this thread and get motivated!

Hi @lludawg. I have to admit, working out consistently is challenging but very doable. Personally, I hit the gym an hour, four days a week. My secret is simple; setting goals. I have long term specific goal to attain optimum weight by the end of the year 2015. I have then subdivided the goal into shorter monthly achievements and finally to weekly and daily tasks. For instance, my daily gym schedule includes tasks like 20 minutes on the treadmill, 50 push-ups, and 30 minutes lifting weights. My plan is to write all activities down and tick them as I complete. I have found this simple plan very effective. You should try it too.

If you have any query or addition regarding this plan, feel free to post here, otherwise all the best.

I think it depends greatly on your will power, how strong your will power is and how you want to stay in shape for a longer period of time. People tend to forget that work out isn't just to keep yourself in shape for now but also to keep you healthy and avoid diseases like diabetes, arthritis etc at old age. So yeah if you want to have a healthy life then work out is must.
