Technological advancement has brought a lot of improvement in all spheres of our life including education. It is now possible to attend classes online through distant learning and acquire the academic credentials at your convenience and comfort. Juggling between job, career development and studies is now much easier than before. However there are those who prefer attending classes practically and enjoy the fun and college life, to them they do not fancy online reading. Would you prefer reading online or practically attending school?

Personally, I'd prefer attending school, since the environment is a lot easier to focus in and you're less likely to get distracted by things like the fridge making weird noises or ending up accidentally spending the rest of the day you were planning on learning things on blogs or watching cat videos instead.
Besides, learning alongside other people can actually be pretty fun, and you can always ask the person next to you for help if you don't understand something.

It depends on a lot of factors. Generally, however, I'd still consider attending school as the superior choice. One upside would be being able to ask for assistance from your classmates or the professor himself if a certain topic isn't clear to you. The lessons are also more likely to be tailored for the students as good professors should be able to adjust their teaching pace depending on how slow or how fast the class is learning. You're also less likely to get distracted by outside factors as kogitsune-kon-kon mentioned above, since you aren't allowed to browse the internet, use the phone, or eat when inside a classroom. Lastly, being able to socialize and communicate with your classmates, and join school organizations would be a really huge advantage. Doing so helps you grow as a person as it allows you to learn early on how to adjust to the varying personalities which you might encounter when you start working. It would also help in making certain connections with people, which would help when you're looking for a job.

The only time I'd choose learning online over attending school would be if I have no other choice. One example would be if I have to work multiple jobs and I only have an hour or two a day left to spend on studying. Another would be if I'm constantly travelling and wouldn't be able to attend the same school. It does have its advantages, as you can study whenever and wherever you want, but overall I'd still choose attending school since its advantages heavily outweigh that of online learning.

This is actually really good question and I'm sure that in the future, more and more would choose online learning as it is a much more convenient way of getting a degree. I would like to see how things are 10 to 20 years from now.

This is such a matter of personal choice and disposition. My son as an example feels he must attend school in a classroom setting. He feels he doesn't have the discipline to budget his time otherwise. He also benefits from the interaction with other students and the ability to get immediate answers to his questions.

Conversely, I much prefer studying at my own pace. I prefer the convenience of being able to do the work whenever. For example I might want to get up early or stay up late. Or if something comes up, I don't have to miss class; just work my studies around the situation.

Just make sure you are honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses to make the right choice.

I would rather read online than attend school. I feel independent, I don't need to ask someone permission to go to the bathroom, and to tell me when I can go on a lunch break. I like the idea of learning at my own pace. When I want, and the freedom of getting more work done, at home. It would allow more freedom, and balance life. Vs me paying for gas to go to school. parking, lunch and E.T.C . When I can eat at home, and take my classes online, and work a study job, with out stress, going to school, while working, that is more time you would have to find time to work around schooling.

Online education is a good way to learn, but we are removing the benefits of personal interaction with other human beings. As someone who have tried online and the traditional learning, I have to say that learning attending the school is the best way to learn. Going every day to your school makes you more acquainted with the real world, you will improve your interaction skills and more.

Online learning is better than attending a class. With online learning, you are always in control in all you do.You manage your own timetable and schedules.

Online reading has got also an advantage in terms of availability of diverse materials. You can always browse information from various sources .You can also share and learn a lot from others. It also connects you globally.A school is good but it cannot be compared to online reading.

Online learning allows a student access to the class around the clock and you are also assured a place in discussions. I have been in the online as well as the bricks and mortar collegiate environments. Many times in a live classroom there were one or two people that dominated discussions. In an online class, one can add commentary to discussions at their convenience with no chance of being drowned out or running out of class time.

Not having to commute to school is another plus of online learning, as is the portability factor. It is nice to just open your tablet or laptop anywhere and dig in.

As far as attending classes, I would much rather go to a physical classroom. I especially enjoyed my lecture courses in college-- to just sit & sip coffee for 90 minutes and listen to a scattered professor talk about his subject. I also find it easier to absorb subjects like algebra and calculus with immediate human feedback. Although, I don't doubt that I could sit online and read all day as well. It's basically what I do anyway.

I have done both and I prefer online school. I love being able to do things at my own pace and not have to worry about showing up at a classroom to sit and listen to something I could figure out in ten minutes online.
