I think most of us have suffered during their lives, and that suffering shaped them and lead them to be the person they are today.
But can there be life without suffering? What if it was offered to you?
What does it mean to be alive, to be human if you never had to go through anything? I think life without suffering has no meaning, even though I would like to suffer less, lol!

    What do you think?

Suffering add flavour to life. It make us appreciate the good things in life. It mould us and help us make the right decisions. It opens our inner eye building humanity in us. It reminds us of who we are and our purpose on earth. Though its painful to suffer but we need to embrace suffering at times.

No there can't be life without suffering. Suffering is part of us so long as you are living under the sun. Suffering can't be avoided completely this is because you aint living alone here on earth, you will meet many people some will frastrate you, some will abuse you for no reason some will commit themselves to fight you, your lover maight fail you and so on. All this will cause mental, physical and psychological suffering. So suffering will always be part of us.

Life is full of surprises, you never know what awaits you in the next turn. It is ever changing. You never know what cards it will deal you, sometimes you win or you lose. It's part of life. Suffering is natural. You can never grow without it. It's when a person suffers that he learns. As what this famous quote say, "No pain, no gain". This is harsh, but it's the truth.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. There is no such thing as coincidence, even your suffering is part of the great plan of God. As we suffer, we grow. When we grow, we progress. We learn through first hand experience. Every setback that happened to us, we should treat as stepping stones to improve our overall well-being. Always believe that after the rain there is a rainbow and in every end of the rainbow awaits your pot of gold.

Life is full of suffering. With this said, I would like to say that it is natural for a person to suffer. A life without suffering is just not a life at all. Life is composed of both the good and the bad. And one without the other makes the whole purpose of life obsolete. The bad things makes us hurt, motivate us to strive, to try harder, to improve. If all was rainbows and cupcakes, people will just have no motivation to make themselves better because in the first place, they don't have any challenge to overcome.

I believe all of us have emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical suffering. This is a part of life for everyone. The unexpected twists and turns in life can be quite challenging. The way one perceives the event, determines the outcome. It takes a lot of inner work, discipline, drive, and determination, to see things differently. Suffering is based on what we believe and what we experience. This is what I've found out in my personal experience, is the way I see the experience, what i do to keep my mind focused, and what kind of information I allow into my thoughts and experience.

Suffering is a part of our lives and no one can ever escape it. Right from the moment, we are in the womb of our mother the cycle of suffering starts. We are forced to survive in the tiny womb for the period on nine months. Once the doctor brings you out of the womb he slaps your butts so that you will cry and take your first breath which is very crucial for your survival.

We start growing up and we encounter a lot of pain around us. we see people who are poor, hungry, sick, mentally unstable. We experience the death of our loved ones and the suffering that they had to go through before there death. We grow old and as our age increases the things that were very easy in the past become difficult.

Suffering is a part of our life and it is better to deal with it with a positive approach. There is no point in getting bogged down by the suffering and giving up on living a life full of happiness and joy. Once we accept that suffering is a part of life then we can easily face it and still live our lives positively.

I agree with Ayoma. I feel like it can be easy to fall into a negative mindset where you only see the negative sides in life and feel like someone is out to get you. Yes, suffering is most definitely a big part of life but that doesn't mean that life equals suffering. From my point of view, we all have something to learn in our lives and suffering is generally how we accomplish that.

As Ayoma mentioned as well, we need to embrace our suffering. I highly believe the suffering is there for a reason and it will almost certainly always lead us to becoming a better person in one way or another.

Nope. As the Buddha said: life is an endless cycle of suffering. So don't think of a way to end it. But think of a way to overcome it or embrace it.

Living a life without pain but pure pleasures seem lifeless for me. Life without suffering is like playing a Mario in a game without obstacles to go through thereby making the game dull to play. So we need to suffer a little bit to appreciate happiness and life. We also need it to gain an insight that might help us overcome an obstacle.

I believe life without suffering is no life at all. The hardships that one faces forge them into something stronger than they were before. I like to jump to the metallurgy analogy a lot. Because I think it is near perfect. You, quite literally, beat metal into shape in order to make it stronger, in order for it to reach its true potential. And I believe life is the same. If people did not face hardships, then they would have no personality, it would be robotic. The experiences everyone had would be far too similar. If I was offered the blue pill, I'd do my damnedest to find the red pill.

Our lives revolve around the suffering of others and our own, but crucial is our response to that suffering. Christianity teaches that suffering cleanses the soul and helps liberate it from harmful attachments. It will test our faith and we’ll see whether we trust God or believe more in ourselves.

Life begins with the mother's suffering and throughout life we must suffer to learn. For example, to learn that fire is hot and burns a person must at least feel the heat.

I find this question really interesting. I would like to believe that we could live without suffering, but if we did, would it even be worth it? Obviously we can't live without suffering due to the fact that every action causes a reaction and everybody will react differently. However, let's assume it was possible to live without suffering. Without pain our lives would be extremely bland and we wouldn't be able to feel emotions as strongly as we can now, if at all. In order to feel happy or loved or any other strong emotions we would have to know what it feels like to suffer, you have to see both sides to fully understand one side.

So while living without suffering may sound great in theory, once you analyze the idea its flaws appear. It's like if we never received darkness during the night we wouldn't know how nice it is to enjoy the sunset. To have darkness one must first have light or in this instance, in order to have happiness one must first know what it's like to be unhappy.

There can be a life without suffering in my opinion. The question is really can a person learn in life without the salty wounds of suffering. Humiliation is always the best server as life lessons come our way everyday. Your strength in life struggles is going to always be the true equalizer. In my opinion at least.

Suffering is part of what makes planet earth what it is today.
The one thing I find puzzling is the randomness of it all.

I see innocent people suffer needlessly.
I was taught from childhood to be good so all may go well with me; but after seeing hard workers suffer lack, honest people get robbed, kind people die young, I've decided to be good just so my conscience can be at peace.

I've suffered in life and I've seen lots of well–meaning people suffer as well; and I've concluded that being good doesn't protect you from pain.

Suffering is a driving force of life. However big or small that suffering is, if we don't suffer, we will never change. Without suffering, there's no need for change. The problem with no change is that we will be stagnant. A neverending cycle of absolutely nothing. And what kind of life is that?

We cannot truly love without suffering. To suffer is to be faced with a challenge. How you deal with that forms your character. Who you are is morphed by your suffering.

Who doesn't want an easier life? I have a rough life and it seems to continue no matter what I do. But experiencing tough moments can really make us stronger. I've been into many tough moments but I'm still alive and as a bonus, I still get to keep my sanity which I think what makes it even harder. But life is more exciting as we go through all it's challenging stages.

Looking back from the way my life was before now, I think it's way better already. Even this pandemic will not let me feel scared to continue living. I know for a fact that whatever happens, I will still survive to tell it all. Which also kind of a tough thing to do. But the world needs strong people so when the time comes, they can tell the younger generation how life treated them like a lab rat before.

We all want a life full of enjoyment. But I don't think you can enjoy without having to taste suffering all through your live. Suffering makes us appreciate life the more. And makes us more stronger to encounter some stuffs in life and pass through them unscathed.

    Suffering is a lesson!

Pain is inevitable, but I fell suffering is optional. You have a choice and the power to decide how long you will hold onto that pain, how it will affect your life and how much control it will have over you. Suffering should be brief and utterly avoided.
