With so much free online resources on google or free tutorials on sites like youtube, I know a lot of us probably learned a skill or two using the internet. But I'm curious if you guys prefer learning from the internet or learning from someone in real life.

I prefer the internet. If you don't understand something, 99.9% of the time you'll find an answer/solution on the internet. When it comes to real life, it depends on the person. Some people suck at teaching, while others don't. On the internet, you can find thousands of teachers that will suit your individual needs.

I prefer a step by step video because you can repeat it at your leisure.

I prefer using the internet in this case. Just imagine if you can't understand a step in a tutorial:

You are watching a YouTube video about tying a know, you can skip back to a step that you didn't understand. Repeat, repeat, repeat until you finally understand what the video is teaching you. Otherwise, you can always pause and find another video that has clearer instructions.

However, learning from someone in real life, you can also have the burden that this person might get angry at you for always asking the same questions, being confused at the steps he or she had given you, etc. There is an emotional burden that is added when I learn it in real life.

So, might as well just learn it on my own using my trusty old internet videos on YouTube.
    Internet: 1, real life: 0
