Religion and sexuality and their interrelationship is a controversial topic but one I'd like to discuss. In all the Abrahamic religions, being of any other sexuality, except being heterosexual, is forbidden and can land an individual in Hell. Religious scholars and others argue that other forms of sexuality are unnatural and go against the natural order that God has made. A man and a woman equal an inherent and accepted union and homosexual couples are often ridiculed and told they will incur the wrath of God. However, this claim goes directly against the idea of God being all Forgiving and all Merciful, which is one that's emphasized in these religions. Here the idea of an individual's sexuality being inherent or chosen comes into work. On one side of the spectrum it can be argued that sexuality is indeed chosen (there having been no "gay gene" discovered inspite of research) and hence, those Muslims/Christians/Jews that choose to be part of the LGTBQ community, knowingly go against their religion and hence, deserve to incur the wrath of God. Isn't God then unobligated to forgive them for doing a sin that he has strongly forbidden? However, many supporters and members also argue that sexuality is innate and the claim can be supported by a collection of behavioral and brain differences between heterosexuals and homosexuals, discovered during research. If this is true, is it then right for God to punish these people for something that, as God is claimed to make all humans, he made them with? Surely, he cannot punish them for something they have no control over? Moreover, why would he make something inherent, forbidden? However until further research discovers a "gay gene" or proves that innate sexuality is a social construct, neither side can win the debate.

Well Abrahamic religions all derive from Old Judaism, which was very strict, for example on Leviticus, a book by Abraham himself you could not have a beard. Many claims regarding homossexuality come from this book, which was written probably more than 3000 years ago, but people often forget that Abraham had is fair share of ridiculous claims, the very act of eating pork by Christians would be reason for the death penalty in his eyes, so you should not think a lot about this subject, everyone has its interpretation of its religion, even in religions like Buddhism there are bigots and racists. You should live your life according to what you believe is best for you and the people you care...

    Kind regards

While God definitely still believes that acting on sinful sexual desires are wrong, He cannot change, He is merciful.

The “qualifications” for Hell are very specific. If someone fully knows God, and still denies Him, then he will go to hell i.e. Cane when he killed Abel.

That means that, while homosexual people wont go to Hell, they will not be worthy of the highest kingdom of glory in heaven, otherwise a God would be lying. They won’t be able to live with God, but because of His mercy, they will still get to live in a lower kingdom of glory.
