Not much people will eat fruits and vegetables and some of us find it unappetizing and does not taste good compare to other delicious food, but what we don’t realize is what benefit it can bring to us like vitamins and minerals that cannot be find to other group of food.

One of the benefits of eating it is it will protect us to avoid cancer, diabetes, fats and heart disease. It can also lower your blood pressure and reduce the chances of heart disease and stroke which is the major cause of global death.

Everybody loves eating. I'm fond of eating fruits, but for me “halo-halo” is the best. It’s an ice desert recipe in the Philippines is similar to Korean traditional desert patbingsu. Bingsu is made from shaved ice, milk, chocolate and yogurt. Toppings may include fruits cocktail, red bean, fresh fruits, cereal flakes and ice cream or whichever you like. Mostly whatever is cold and would melt in my mouth I enjoy consuming.

Anything which is not man made basically is healthy for the body, is a good rule of thumb. Think about it. Especially those which are freshly picked straight from the tree or bush. Believe me I really do like the taste of beef and fish and sometimes pork. Those which are cheap and abundant are the best for you and me and will leave you guiltless if you indulge too much.

Food is a basic need, and no person or even an animal can live without taking food. We need food to live, but if you don't do it properly, then food will quicken your way to grave, a bitter truth indeed. That's why lifestyle diseases are finishing the world.

To avoid the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, which have a strong relation, then it means you will have to practice a healthy lifestyle. I will not talk about exercising, avoiding excess alcohol consumption and stress, but diet. Just reduce protein intake, especially red meat, and substitute with grain proteins to build your body. Have a balance among the proteins, vitamins, and carbohydrates and be sure of living a healthy life.

I have fought with diabetes. I had been diagnosed with the disorder five years ago. I tried to improve my overall health by dieting, working out longer, and also cutting on carbohydrates. Regrettably, these plans didn't halt the development of diabetes. Subsequently, I began whole food, a purely plant-based diet. Ever since that time, I reversed my diabetes.
