You can be happy with money. Or, at least, you can reach a certain level of happiness. With money, people can feed their greed and desires so that they can get everything they have ever wanted. The more money you have, the more chance there is of what you want happening for you, and therefore, more happiness.

However, there is a limit. Is it really happiness if you live a life where you get rid of one desire only to get another one? It seems as if that kind of lifestyle will only be tiring. People with lesser money have lived more fulfilling lives (at times) than people who have too much money.

Money won't make you happy but the process of how one obtains it, I feel is large in part of what makes a person happy.

Let me share an experience I had around the subject of money. There's this song called "Bad Karma" Axel Thesleff, at first I just used to listen to it because it was catchy. This was during my college years, I was embracing my hippie side in these modern times. Well the song is just one line being repeated in a foreign language. It didn't matter to me what it meant until it did. After listening to it for a year a friend of mine researched what it meant and apparently its translation goes like "Don't keep chasing money, the rich have loads of it and they're not happy". It felt like a big revelation to me. Since I heard it tirelessly for a year. It kind of became my mantra. I don't chase it anymore but I am happy as one can be in our world. As far as I can tell there is no guarantee that one would be happy if they were rich.

Sure, of course you be happy with money! Anybody who says money doesn't buy happiness has never been poor, that's for sure! I know I have been rich and poor, and I greatly enjoyed being rich better. The biggest issue with being poor is you can't help other people if you can't even help yourself. I suppose if you are a jerk, you wouldn't care if you were unable to afford birthday presents, donate to the poor, or constantly had to bug other people for money.

Me personally? I like being able to buy things for my family, donate to charity, and not owe debts. I love to go on vacations, enjoy good food, etc. However, I have found a lot of rich people lose touch with poor people or just people in general and become cold and judgemental.

I think if you start to do that, and stop being thankful for what you have, than you can become discontent and even isolated as people will start to dislike you and sabotage your success. That could definitely lead to some degree of unhappiness from money and we see it a lot with celebrities. Money can be good or bad depending on what you do with it.

It depends on how you see it from your point of view. I'd rather have a bicycle than a sports car. Since I feel happier riding a bike. The price tag of something is not what can make you happy. It's what that particular thing can do for you. If you will cry over having an expensive car, then it means that your not happy. So it defeats the purpose of trying to be happy.

Although money seems to be everything, it's not. It's only a tool that you can use to purchase the things that you need to make your life easier. We should also learn the value of it in the current situation. Money cannot really do that much when it comes with another aspect of our lives. What if all the store closes and you cannot buy anything with your money? You will not be happy with it alone. It takes other factors in order for you to enjoy it.

But sure, I prefer to have more money so that I can just hang out and afford to be lazy. Then I don't have to sacrifice my quality time with the people I love in order to make a living. But it can also be boring if it's always just there. It can also cause more problems the more money that you have under your name. If you already know how to handle it, then you became it's master not the other way around.

Yes, but remember that money isn't everything. It can improve your life and "free" you, but it can do the exact opposite if you let it consume you.
