just one more drop of water (they said)
    one more piece of wood
    one more fish
    one more burnt fossil
one more piece of plastic in the sea
    one more carbon emission
one more hole in the ozone
    one more melting glacier
    one more oil spill
one more dead in the forest
    and the ocean
    and the air
    one more degree raise in
    the world temperature
    one more wildfire
one more minute on our phones
one more minute of tweeting and picture posting and crying over our streaks being broken
one more minute of scientific advancements
    one more minute of silence
one more minute of the world turning bankrupt in front of us
one more minute of our wilful ignorance
one more of trusting, trusting, trusting that it can recover itself
one more minute of destroying but no restoring, of taking but no giving back
one more minute of not even trying,
telling ourselves it is no use,
    things are too far gone
one more minute of never questioning the reason behind it
one more minute of not taking the blame
    one more (they said)
    just one more
not realizing that all these ones will build up to a million.
a million more drops and emissions and minutes and things taken and not given back
    not realizing that the world:
it can't even afford one more
    let alone a million.
it's in too deep to even afford debt.
not realizing that when you can't afford anything, not even debt
you're forced to sell. sell your belongings.
and then the world will say:
    just one more,
    one more flood
    one more earthquake
    one more drought
    one more storm
    one more homeless
    one more hungry
    one more thirsty
    one more dying
    one more dead
    and another one
    and another one
    and another one
until these ones, too, will build up to a million.
and the world won't be able to do anything.
because when the humans ask for more
and the world can't afford anything,
(because they took it all away and gave nothing back)
    it's forced to sell.
    itself. or them.
    or both.

This poem really reflects on society today. It's showing how small things can add up and lead to bigger problems. For example, the writer states "
one more degree raise in the world temperature, one more wildfire." Kind of like a cause-and-effect built poem.

Another example in the text is "and another one, and another one, and another one. Until these ones, too, will build up to a million. And the world won't be able to do anything." This quote shows the repetition that goes on, and how it builds up so large, it can't be handled anymore. We need to start making a difference in the world.

I bet it’s amazing, but I’m supposed to be doing my remote learning and online classes right now so I really don’t have time to read it.
