Your first phone

Hey guys! Do you recall what was your very first mobile phone? Mine was a Siemens A51, I still remember how proud I was when I got it as a Christmas present.

 

I don't think I'll ever forget the first cell phone I had,whisch was the Nokia 1110i back when it was still a dominant mobile manufacturer. It was a hand-me-down phone from my mom and I completely went crazy.

My first phone is Nokia 5110, which my husband bought me abroad. I was so very happy then realizing that I am in because I have a smartphone. I took care of it and it last a long time. Although this model looks like fits with men but I still happy with it.
It's features are fits for my daily use.

 

Wow, I feel young coming in here. I didn't own my first cell phone until fairly recently. Maybe as recently as 5 years ago. The first phone I had was a Samsung galaxy core prime, or something along those lines. I now own a Samsung j7 sky pro, which works wonders.

I probably could have gotten a phone sooner, but back then I didn't have a job and there was no way my parents would have gotten me one.

 

I didn't have my phone when I was young. I fondly remember playing snake on my fathers nokia (simpler times ). When I became a teenager, that's when my grandfather bought me my first phone - Alcatel OT-890, which was also my first touch phone. Oh the joy I felt when I booted that bad boy up! I mean, compared to today's standards it's laughable, but for me then it was a beast. I still think about the rush I had when I first fired up the app store, downloading things left and right. Nostalgia is a funny thing.

 

Wow, my first phone. Incredible! My dad bought me a phone for me to take it to the university. It was my first year at the university and I was very proud of having a mobile phone with me way back in August 2006. The model was a very basic phone model. It did not have many features. The model was NOKIA 1100. But I loved it. I used to text my friends on the mobile phone. Then listen to FM all night. I even connected my debit card unknowingly to the phone number and lost around INR 50000.

У меня ностальгия, первым телефоном был Siemens A25. Я жил в России в провинции.
Мы с папой долго думали, зачем нам нужен телефон. Это было дорого около двух месячных зарплат. Это было очень дорого.
Услуги связи также были дорогими.

 

My first mobile phone was Q mobile L1 and i used it till 2016 and i bought it in 2014. It was a feature phone. I used to download YouTube videos in 3gp format and then transfer to it and then watch them in small screen of my then small screen mobile.

 

My very first phone was a ladybug.

More seriously, an LG flip phone- two numbers for several years. Eventually graduated to an iPhone.

 

I don't know whether I could regard it as my first phone, but it would be an Itel phone, I don't remember the model or specs, but I can recall my dad collecting it from me at the end of each day. It was generally used for work so my dad could reach me. Anyways, I enjoyed it until it was stolen some months later. Ahh, memories.

 

My first phone was a Windows phone. I don't remember the type but even though my friends had iPhones I was so happy for this phone because I knew that my parents had saved a lot to be able to get it for me.

 

My first phone is a Nokia phone with a qwerty keypad. It's a decent phone considering it is my first ever phone. I got it when I was a first year highschool student since I had to study in a dormitory school. I wasn't really fond of using it before since I'm not into the internet back then. I just used it to text my family and friends back home and play simple games. It's actually durable since it lasted for years without major damages despite dropping it lots of times.

 

Feel like tell you the entire list of my handset. My very first handset and last handsets are from Sony.

1. Sony Ericsson K550i - 2007 Dec used till 2013. It's passed down family phone.
2. Sony Ericsson S312- May 2010,lost within 15 days of purchase.
3. Sony Ericsson W660i-Jul 2010 for 1 year. Given to my mom to use.
4. Sony Ericsson F100i D&G edition - used for 1.2 year given to my dad.
5. Came back to Sony Ericsson K550i - serviced and used again from 2011 Aug to Nov 2013.
6. Sony Xperia L white - Jan 2014 - March 2015. Glass broken twice after the first glass change 18 Dec 1st Glass broken, replaced it on 16 Feb, 18 Feb evening glass broken again. Gave it to Dad.
7. Sony Xperia M- March 2015-Aug 2015. Snatched by cousin sister.
8. Came back to Sony Xperia L- but my Dad was missing his touch screen phone.
9. Purchase Obsolete refurbished Sony Xperia M2 Sept 2015. Still working I'm typing this answer in it.I was short on budget.

 

My first phone is a Samsung phone handed down to me by my sister. I just got it a year ago so it is fairly new to me. I have used it to communicate with my friends and play mobile games. It is decent phone with good processing capabilities and battery life. Although the mentality for most teenagers nowadays is to get the latest iPhones, I'm happy with what I have.

 

My first phone was given to me on my sixteenth birthday. It was an LG cellphone with a pull-out keyboard. I loved it so much, and my best friend actually ended up getting the exact same one! They had removable backs, and as an artist, she would take hers off and paint gorgeous designs on them.

I remember when that phone eventually died, that's when I got my first smartphone. I was very hesitant, I wanted that keyboard back!

 

Oh..nostalgia here I come. The first time I got my phone was in 6th grade. That was the time when I started going to school and going home from school by myself. The phone was a Samsung and I treasured that phone like a how a mother treasured her babies. I brought so much protection for the phone, such as glass screen protectors, camera protectors, case with was card holder and even a string to hands around my neck. Thinking back, I was super overprotective.

 

Hoo boy. I feel like I should tell you about my entire history with phones. Settle in, this will be a long post. This is my first post here, so go easy on me.

My first phone was actually a first-generation iPhone that I got back in 2010. It was 3 years old at this point, but it was an iPhone, and iPhones were cool at the time. I'm Singaporean. Android phones were just entering the scene, and Samsung had only just released the Galaxy S, but iPhones were still king. Most people used Nokias, Motorolas, and Sony Ericssons, although there were some Samsung and LG users, even back then. Xiaomi was still very much a China-only brand, and they, too, had just released their first phone, and aside from Meizu and Huawei, the other Chinese phone makers made cheap trash that didn't last but had cool features.
When my iPhone had too many software bugs to be usable (it was jailbroken. Singapore never officially got the first-generation iPhone.) around 2011, I upgraded to an iPhone 3GS. It was my sister's old phone; she'd just upgraded to an iPhone 4S. Yeah, I know I missed out on a lot. Singapore never got those pull-out keyboard phones as texting wasn't that popular until smartphones and WhatsApp came along, as they cost 8 cents per character, although that is in Singapore dollars. I forgot what the exchange rate was like at the time. From here on, all prices will also be in Singapore dollars as well. It was more of the same, really. Prepaid SIM cards in Singapore expire after 3 months of not topping up, so I could never really keep a number for long as I rarely could justify topping up (I had no social life as a kid), and I wouldn't be able to get mobile data for another 4 years, so after the first three months, my phones would become gaming devices.
That phone broke in 2012, and for a while in 2013, I would use a cheap Galaxy Note clone, this being my first Android phone, of a sort. The phone couldn't install apps from Google Play, so I had to install Chinese apps from the app store preinstalled on the phone. Good thing I'm ethnically Chinese and could read Chinese well, even back then.
That phone would have screen issues, as was common for cheap Chinese phones of the time, and for 2013 and 2014, I would use an iPhone 4S, again a hand-me-down, but this time from my father.
2015 brought actual friends that cared, and a new phone, though it was a downgrade, being a Samsung 2G flip phone. I actually kept the number for this phone for a year. Lots of calling, texting, and some surfing, though only about 10MB of data at a time, as that cost about $1 and I couldn't afford more data, while out and about did the trick to justify topping up.
The number expired in 2016, and I went without a phone number for a year. I held on to it as a radio for another year, then upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The 2G network was shutting down the next year, and I was going on to secondary school, so my mom saw fit to let me upgrade to her Note 3. Coming to secondary school also meant I was transitioned to a monthly allowance, so I could top up my phones myself. And I could buy mobile data to surf the web on the go and use WhatsApp. I felt like a first-class citizen of the web for the first time in my life
But that broke only half a year in, and I went without a phone for 2 months until I got a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. This was on a postpaid plan, so I used the number that came with it even after the phone itself broke in 2019, at which point I got a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, until I got a new number and my current primary phone, the Google Pixel 3a. The phone had a good camera, had good enough performance, and was free with the plan. It didn't have expandable storage, but I could live with 64GB of storage.
This would be it until the present, if not for one problem. See, I'm bisexual, and my parents, as well as my country, are homophobic. I don't dare to come out to them, but I turned 18 just this April, and I felt like I should be dating. So what was I to do? Answer: Get a secondary phone. My first secondary phone was a cheap Infinix Note 4 Pro that I got for $100, which I used for online dating, and the first-ever phone I bout with my own money, including the prepaid plan. As a bonus, that phone had expandable storage, so I could store my massive audiobook library on it.
Next came a Xiaomi Redmi 8a, a $150 upgrade I did because the Infinix had really bad software. It was decent, and I felt like I was truly free. This too had expandable storage. As an aside, by this point, prepaid data had dropped in price to be cheaper than postpaid data. My prepaid plan, which I still use, let me use 40GB of data for only $30. That's how far prepaid plans have come in Singapore.
My next phone cost $300 with a trade-in. I was happy with my Redmi 8a, but as a tech nerd, I wanted more out of my phones. So I got a Sony Xperia 10 II with a triple camera. I love the pictures and display, though sadly, Filmic Pro didn't work with the phone. This also had expandable storage, though unlike the Redmi 8a, it was on the same slot as the second SIM slot. Remember this. It will be important later. It also had 128GB of storage, more than I ever had on a phone.
I would have stayed with just 2 phones, if not for a mistake I made. See, I registered a second WeChat account (I use WeChat mainly to register for Chinese web services.) but forgot to deregister it and move my primary phone number's WeChat account over. When I realized my mistake, I was unable to log in to the second account, so had to register a third SIM card and get a second phone as the second SIM slot of the Xperia 10 II was also a MicroSD slot, and I didn't want to lose the expandable storage. I first got a Redmi Note 2 and a Redmi Go for about $200 altogether, trying to see which would be better. But they were both too slow to cope with the RAM-hogging Chinese apps. So I traded those in for a Redmi 7a, moved my Chinese apps and services over, and Bob was my uncle.

So this brings me to the present with my smartphones. I know I'm weird for having 3 phones, but hey. Different strokes for different folks.

 

My first phone was an $80 dollar android I got at a Christmas present, and although I loved it dearly, i'd dropped it so many times i'm surprised it lasted the three years I had it. Even if it was barely functioning, it was hard to say goodbye. First phone are always an experience and know i'll never forget mine.
