I started to realize that most people who exercise, are not always doing it for them.
But subconsciously for people who would judge them or look more like the media
It is so true...not for everyone but allot of people
Exercise is always advertised as a way to gain muscle or loss weight.
There is always pressure to look better physically, especially females.
A way to perfect your body image, not a way to increase body health.
When I exercise, I am not always thinking about the health benefits.
But, the idea that it can make my body look better.
Which is sad to think about...
That everything advertised is pulling people in to not like their natural body
and want to look something they are not.
    Just think about it.
We should all have more self love

This is definitely an issue- one that I've experienced personally, actually. There is so much pressure to look a certain way- not just on females, though, as you suggest. It is just as much a problem for men. We are expected to be big and "masculine", whatever that word means. Social media can create a pattern of negative, self-deprecating thoughts and is something you need to consider when working out.

Of course, working out is a fantastic thing. Exercise is so important for your health and makes you feel good! It releases lots of "feel-good" chemicals in your brain, which can help with depression. That being said, it is important to recognize why you are exercising. This is a question I ask myself constantly, so I do not go back to my self-judgmental thoughts. Now, I exercise because it makes me feel happy and helps with my depression.

Exercising will not help with self love. Self love can only come from the inside, and trying to do physical things will never give that feeling to you. You need to learn to love yourself and your body no matter what you look like. This can be achieved through practices such as meditation, reflection, and journaling. Those three activities will certainly help you love yourself, if that is what you are seeking.

Where did OP suggest this is just a problem for women?

I agree that the issue is experienced by pretty much everyone. Why are there makeup companies, if not to convince women they are unattractive naturally? Why are there "penis-lengthening pills" if not to convince men they don't measure up?

It is an unfortunate reality, but it is unlikely to change.

I am currently in this boat right now. I feel pressured to work out every single day (and I am) just to be super skinny and be able to wear a bikini. Men are pressured to work out because all advertisements and magazines show that women only like men who are muscular and that simply isn't true. I know that so I feel as a woman I shouldn't be pressured to work out because if the male stereotype isn't true than the woman's shouldn't be either. However, I feel that I don't belong in society or I'm not pretty unless I am skinny.

It’s not like we feel! We need to do it. Sports have to be part of our routine and it builds up our body and makes us strong. If you are thinking of loosing weight, you need to be patient and stay CONSISTENT. Let no one define who you are!

Because it's good for you. Most people who go to the gym, or run, or do any form of exercise have a goal. What that goal is doesn't matter. What matters is you stay active. Someone who goes on runs every day is much healthier than someone who sits on the couch all day doing nothing productive. Many people don't care what others think about it but yes, some do exercise for people. What's wrong with that? They're moving. They're going to feel more confident and soon they won't care.

We should be more self-loving, yes. However, self-loving is NOT self-ignorance. If you're 100 lbs overweight, you might want to do something about that if you don't want to die in the next 20 years. If you're 100 lbs underweight (exaggeration) then you might want to do something about that. It's ridiculously unhealthy. Love yourself, yes, but part of that process is taking care of yourself.
