The Bible is God's holy book. It comprises of many writers drawn from all wakes of life and having different backgrounds ; yet what they write have a sort of an agreement. It is written in 2nd Timothy 3:15 that all scripture is inspired.

However, there are two versus which confuse me greatly. Numbers 23:19 says God cannot regret. Genesis 6:6 says that God regretted having made human beings. Are these verses contradicting?

I fully agree with Bwonyele that all scripture is inspired by God (Though it is 2 Timothy 3:16). One of the greatest tenets of the Bible that I have come to appreciate is its consistency and authenticity. For this reason, I have learned to study the Bible in its entirety because one confusing passage in one book is clearly expounded in another. I ask myself the question if the scriptures were inspired, who did the inspiration? Clearly, it was the Holy Spirit. And when Jesus left he told the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit because when he comes, He will be our helper and will teach us all things. (John 14:26)

One of the other things I could point out is that it is always beneficial to study the Bible within its context.

I believe the Bible does contradict itself. The two contradictions that stick out for me are if Jesus fulfilled the Messiah tenets and what Jesus' last words were before he died. There are more contradictions than those two. I don't believe the book was divinely inspired. If it was, Jesus would have known that mustard seeds are not the smallest seeds.

Fist I have a question for you: What version of the Bible are you using?

Because God is never changing and eternal He only either regrets or doesn’t regret humans. Because His plan for the world involves making us and putting our spirits into bodies then we must assume that He wouldn’t regret making us. If He did regret then it would go against His eternal plan.

The Bible has been translated and picked appart for over 1,500 years, so it’s safe to assume that there are many mistakes or miss understandings that have developed over time.

One example would be the Nicene creed. It declared that God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost were all the same being, but the account of Jesus’ baptism proves that wrong pretty quickly, not to mention every time Jesus prays to the father.

So when reading the Bible know that some of the plain and precious parts of the Bible have been taken out or twisted into the book we love today. If the Bible contradicts itself, then one or both of those parts have been corrupted.

If you want scripture that has not been corrupted you can go here: churchofjesuschrist.org

The Bible is divinely inspired, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be contradicting. The book was written by men instructed by God, and then translated and twisted over the last 1,500. Those last 1,500 are what caused the majority of contradictions in the Bible.

I’d just like to point out that the point of the mustard seed wasn’t to say it was the smallest, but to give an example to the people of something very small. I’m pretty sure they didn’t even have carrots in Jerusalem, so why would Jesus use them or any other smaller seeds?

The bible does not contradict itself. Reading in context matters a lot. Translations can also cause some confusions.
