    Hey,
I thought everyone would be a little bored during this break.
I decided, I would give you some of my favorite shows and movies, I want to see if we have similar taste.
I have some on Netflix and others that are not so, you have options!
I will be rating them by the star system, ***** this is the best and this is the worst *.

I will talk more soon, here are the recommendations and short reviews from my POV:

Teen TV SHOWS on Netflix(not in order):

    1. Sherlock *****
I found this show very interesting, you never knew what was coming and always thought you knew. But became surprised by the amount of times he escaped. It was sad to see it end but I think it was the perfect amount of adventure and mystery for me! :)

    2. OUTER BANKS *****
It is so hard to express my love for this series, It was one of the most entertaining series I have ever watched. You would think everything was happy and something would happen. There are many dramatic moments, sad moments and happy moments. It takes a story about kids searching for treasure into a life story of the groups friendship and love to how it ends. I thought it would end like a annoying cliff-hanger but it was perfect!!!:)

    2. The Good Place *****
OMG, I could talk about this show forever if I could. This show is so beautiful in the way it is curated and finds a way to keep the interest going. You develop this deep connection with the characters and start to understand them. Each of them make life long friendships and different personalities that were supposed to clash but they made it work.Which makes this TV show even more fun to watch, they make crazy decisions and you see them figure out this big mystery if they were in hell or the actual heaven.

    3. On my Block ***
I fell in love with this show on the first episode, I highly recommend if you do not want to get you heart broken to only watch until the second season, after that it gets sad. Anyway all of the friendships between them made it very memorable and the many adventures they went through.

    4. Anne with an E *****
I found the theme song so cute! I could not stop watching, it was so addicting. It was weird to watch at first because it is not my type of show.
But , this show made me see in her point of view in the olden times when things were different. She was a wild spirit in the time when woman were supposed to be silenced. She proved that she could be confident and imaginative even when her life was hard. She brought life to the story and made me want to live there with her. She brought happiness to my heart in every episode.

    5. The Society ****
-This is for older teens. This was a typical idea but the added twists made it worth, the watch.
The teens in this story, seem to all have pieces of the story but they just do not fully connect them. After I watched it, it gave the impact of a new clarity of seeing my own world.
It made me think about what it would be like without technology.
The teens in the show had to stay civilized in a society on their own, to stay alive.
I like the concept and how they always made new connections, I hope they make another season.

    TEEN SHOWS NOT ON NETFLIX:

    1. H20 just add water (HULU)
OKAY, i know what you are thinking...
Wow, she just really did that or this show is so old, why did she put this here!
I feel like I grew up on this and I found so many interesting parts about it when I was younger.
It is super cheesy but I wish I still had the mindset to watch it cause I really liked it.:(

    2. My So-Called Life
This is SUPER good. I really enjoyed this because of the main character, Angela. Her commentary made me laugh and I really related to hr sometimes.
You should really watch IT! What made me really sad though, is that there was supposed to be another season, but they never made one:mad:

This is getting a little long...
If you want more recommendations comment and I will make one!!!
    Talk soon
    Kayla

Here is one more, I really like this one!

Adult or Older Teen Netflix Show

    2. Money Heist- This show is for 18+, I found this show very intriguing, it not only kept me hooked but helped me learn Spanish. I do not want to give to much away but it is about a money heist and a guy named the Professor. Who hires eight robbers to help him succeed in the mission.

Some other good shows are Shameless, Greys Anatomy, Girl Boss, and Vampire Diaries. These are all on Netflix.

Shameless is a comedic show about a poor family growing up in the hood. It shows Fiona, alone, raising 5 kids, even though she's only 19 years old! Greys Anatomy is a good binge show following around HOT doctors in a daily work routine. There is lots of dating drama and lots of blood. Girl Boss is a true story about the girl who started Nasty Gal. It shows her struggles leading to the website launch and overall just a good show. Vampire Diaries is another great binge. It's about a girl living in a twisted town with vampires, witches, werewolves and more. It talks about her adventure into discovering vampires and eventually becoming one (sorry for the spoiler :) ) I hope you watch them! They are all amazing.

Guys, if you love dramatic television and complex storylines, you should go binge Gossip Girl during quarantine!! It follows the lives of a group of wealthy teens who grow up in the Upper East Side and their struggles with dating, college, and life. A rather interesting storyline that is my favorite is their struggle to not fall into the same habits their millionaire businesspeople parents did. One of my favorite things about the show is it shows the dark side of a lifestyle that I have never experienced. Whether it's entirely accurate or not, you will get hooked on the show, I promise.

Ooh, there's a ton of stuff I've been watching on Netflix recently!

The Good Place is AMAZING. It actually manages to make philosophy interesting, which isn't something I'd usually be into. Michael Schur is an actual legend! If you're into the Good Place, you might also enjoy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It's super interesting and I love to see the character development evolve over the course of the series.

On the other hand, I've also been watching an embarrassing amount of old rom-coms. Clueless will always hit different. I think I've watched it five times now? 13 Going on 30 and Crazy Stupid Love are also amazing.

Other things I love to watch are movies like Inception and the Truman Show. They really twist my perspective on the world... for a bit, at least. Super trippy and captivating to watch. If you know any movies of the sort, please let me know. I'm on the lookout for them!

I just finished watching Outer Banks and cannot recommend it enough! It follows a group of teens (written realistically, which is quite rare in today's media) that are searching for gold from an old shipwreck. Throughout this adventure, the characters are all developed naturally, and none of the writing seems forced like in some shows about teenagers. There are action sequences, romantic sequences, and scenes that just make you want to be in their friend group more than anything else in the world. If you're interested in realistic fiction, action/adventure, or just want to try something new and exciting, watch Outer Banks!

Oh my gosh, I literally love "Outer Banks" so much I've watched it 3 times already. Currently, I'm watching "Dynasty" which has me hooked and I also like the show "You" which is so suspenseful and interesting. But again overall would be Outer Banks because it is just so good!

Lucifer is a great show. It's a very interesting topic and you get pulled in by the desire to see how everything plays out for the characters. #BlackAF is a mini-series guaranteed to make you laugh. It's very funny. Inception is a fantastic movie. Great concept, great execution. The Edge of Seventeen. Personally, I believe that Hailee Steinfeld is a great actress and is kind of underrated. She portrays this character very well. The Last Summer. This movie follows several storylines of different teens and what they're doing during the summer after they graduate high school. Set It Up is kind of cheesy, but I think it's funny. It follows two personal assistants that play matchmaker with their bosses to get out of doing their jobs. Circle is a simple movie, yet nonetheless interesting. It's shot in one room, but the dialogue is what keeps it moving.

I love watching movies too! However, we should be more careful of what we watch since the movies may have contents that are inapporiate for the teens. Since we are all now in quarantine, we should be leading our teens of how and what they should watch on movies. I am afraid that some movies may influence them of making bad decisions and ideas. Yet there are still very good movies on netflix! And I recommend to focus the movies for the teens that involve team buildin and quick response like survival. Lastly, we should limit the teens to movies, not all they watch are real, so be careful!

I have only seen money heist from this list. It is actually a very good series which everyone could watch during your free time. As you have mentioned there are some 18+ content. So I don't recommend it to students. Every episode ends with an element of suspense which make us eager to watch the next episode. My favourite characters were Berlin and Nairobi. The background sound track is also very good.

    1. On my block is currently on Netflix it is about a girl Monse who likes Ceaser who was born into drugs and vilonce. They go through a lot of drama and there are romances in this show this could be a show for you

    2. Good doctor is the show for you if you like shows about autism or people proving other wrong you would love this. The main character (Shawn) is autistic and very intelligent when it comes to the anatomy. This show is currently on Hulu and it is renewed for another season.
