I would have to say Billy Raffoul his deep and smooth voice goes so well with his songs. Sadly not a lot of people know about his music.
I've discovered him last summer from his "I'm not a saint" single which is one of his most well known works as well as one of his best.

Oh this is a great question, and you're going to get way more than you asked for from me! The first band I'd recommend is Blue Oyster Cult. While most people know their famous song ("Don't Fear The Reaper"), they have a fantastic discography apart from that. My personal favorite is the album Spectres.

Another great, underappreciated band is Deep Purple. They, like Blue Oyster Cult, have one hit song which everyone knows: "Smoke On The Water." There is so much more to them though! Their best album, in my opinion, is Deep Purple In Rock. It is the album on which the band really found their sound. This record featured their best lineup and really is just a masterpiece. Another band connected to this one is guitarist Ritchie Blackmore's side project, Rainbow. They only had a few albums but they were amazing.

The first name that I thought of after reading this was The Arcadian Wild. God, I love their music! The folky lyrics along with the acoustic(sometimes pop) music tones sound tranquil and at the same time, exciting. You can never hear a song of theirs and get it out of your head. So don’t check them out before your SAT or any other important exam. It will cost you.

Then there are artists like Luna Bay, The bleachers, Cate Sparks that just make your wonder why millions of people aren’t swooning to their songs already.

Hopefully, all these artists mentioned here in this thread will get their long deserved break soon.

Definitely David Myles! He is an absolutely amazing artist from the Atlantic region of Canada. He has this retro vibe that I really love, and he has an amazing stage presence. Combined with a solid amount of albums, and the youtube talk show he hosts, you will have a lot of content to explore!

Also, I feel like Lemon Demon needs more mainstream attention. Sure, a lot of internet folk know of him, but that man really deserves to be on the Hot 100 or something. He just pumps out the most amazing stuff!

I'd definitely recommend checking out Katie Melua. She has a rich, velvety voice that's perfect for jazz and blues music, with a tendency to evoke a sense of longing into a lot of her songs. It's not the only emotional resonance her music has, but given that it's a major theme, it works for me. I'd also look into Elan Parle. They're a Trinidadian band that combines jazz with the island beat you'd expect out of the region for some pretty pleasant and relaxing results. My father turned me onto both artists and I listen to them when I want to wind down a bit.

I'd say Jeff Buckley, he died really young and had a forgettable career let alone the song "Dream Brother" which by the way, is incredibly good, and his version of "Hallelujah" which is breathtaking, his voice is amazing and it's incredible how talented he was, truly a loss...
I really think that too little people know about him, I've only met one person that knew him and this person only knew once song, it's a shame, he has many good songs, check the album "Grace" if you want to check it out, it's awesome.
