Cooking for others and watching them enjoy your labor of love can be gratifing. Eating a tasty meal prepared for you by a season chef at a five star restaurant may just be bliss. Enjoying a delicious meal that you've prepared yourself can be priceless.

In short, I would have to say with the proper amount of energy and motivation, I find the joy is in both the cooking and eating. How about you?

For me it's the joy of eating. I cook to eat and enjoy what I eat. I'll labor in the kitchen to cook up our favorite meals. After you finish cooking you see your family enjoying their meals, that's when it's all worth it! We all have to cook and cooking can mean just open a can and heating it up to eat with your rice or bread and vegetables. When your family gobbles up with delight your meals is the reward that your heart remembers.

Hearing people say, “hmm delicious” and getting a second or third serving with almost non-stop talking about how superb is my cooking is music to my ears. I love being served at, but I’m heavy on pleasing others because I’m a pleasure seeker. My tip every time you singe garlic is to use only very low fire until it’s golden brown or less because that’s where you make or brake it when it comes to garlic seasoning. If you overcooked it it will have an unpleasant taste and defeats the purpose of this all time flavoring. Once your patient enough it will produce a delectable flavor. This in turn will be good for fried rice, eggs ,fish, etc. Always remember to remove the spice out of the frying pan and add it back in when your dish is almost done again to avoid causing it to be bitter. What I learned from all this is to always taste if it is or not salty, sour, sweet, bitter and hot. With this practice in mind you’ll be able compensate for its lackness or abundance in taste.

Since I like individuals offering me cold water or juice, coffee, ice cream, sandwich, rice, side dishes, spoon and fork, fan or air conditioner and chair making me really comfortable. I’m sure you know the feeling and I would like others to have the same exact feeling and treatment or more to everyone. Just in case you drop by at our place I’ll present to you Philippine hospitality wherein you’ll feel at home and enjoy Philippine cuisine! It's definitely joy in cooking or serving others for me.

I'm gonna be one of those weirdos and say the joy really comes with the cooking. I like how Krissttina worded it: "I cook to eat and enjoy what I eat." This is beautifully said. The happiness and pleasure you get out of making a full meal for yourself beats a hamburger you get at McDonald's any day. Sure, their burgers and chicken nuggets are satisfying and tasty. And sure, your junk food craving will be more than fulfilled after the first bite. But it takes only a quick stop at the drive-thru to get what you want and your happiness is a short one; it's usually a bubble of euphoria that eventually leads to you feeling slightly sick and disgusted after you're finished.

When you actually put effort in the kitchen to make a homemade meal, there's nothing more satisfying than enjoying just that. Homemade meals are usually far healthier and leave you feeling full and happy. There's this taste in these dishes that make them taste far superior than any meal you get at a fast food joint.

I both find joy in cooking and eating. I love to cook and of course I love to eat.

I enjoy roasting and having a barbecue. I enjoy smelling the aroma of food being cooked.

Now, with that said, I know that not all people enjoy cooking but I am sure that almost all people love eating. Therefore the joy is primarily in eating rather than cooking.

But for me who loves to cook, it is in both.

It really just depends on the person. Lots of individuals do not enjoy cooking nice meals; instead, they would rather someone prepare one for them to enjoy. For me personally, I haven't grown up around people that buy ingredients to cook. We mainly just order from a restaurant or find something easy around the house, but I would love to learn to cook. Then, I believe I would enjoy both the preparing and eating of the food.

To put it bluntly, food is life. Whether I am eating or cooking I am enjoying it. I used to leave all the cooking to the elder women in the family and I didn't really care about what I was eating, they made it and I knew I would enjoy it. Then a few years ago, my grandmother got sick and she couldn't prepare and cook the Thanksgiving meal for our family. The task ended up in my lap and I truly, at that moment, learned the joy of cooking. I have continued to prepare and cook Thanksgiving dinner for our family ever since. My oldest daughter has always loved food and she has started cooking more over the last couple of years. I will be honest though, we cannot be in the kitchen at the same time. She has her ways of doing things and I have mine so everyone has learned that it is best to just stay out of whomever's way.

Now, seven years after starting the Thanksgiving tradition my grandparents are getting so far up in years and their health is such that we have started doing family dinners every Sunday with our immediate family. There are about 12 to 15 of us each week. We started back in May, somehow someway we have found something new to cook and create each week that has really been so much fun and delicious! We have been learning new recipes, trying things we have never cooked before, and sharing them with each other. Our family has grown so much closer just by doing this one thing every week. There is something to be said about food bringing people together and I believe a good meal is also nourishing to the soul!

I love to re-create and create meals, sometimes from scratch and other from recipes. Nothing makes me feel like a chef when my family, friends, or significant other's eyes light up when they taste my food. But I am a foodie and LOVE to dine and eat.

:) :) I find joy in eating because cooking has never been my specialty. I cannot relate cooking to eating because of my perception of cooking as work while eating as a way of life.
