I prefer watching movies at home, in my mobile phone with earphones. We will be more comfortable if we are alone. In theatres, we are surrounded by many people who are completely strangers. We will always be conscious about our posture when we are at theatres. The only good thing about theatre is the quality sound system but I don't want to compromise my comfort with it.

If a must-watch movie for me just got released, I would totally watch it in the theatre rather than waiting 5 months or so for it to air on my TV. Plus, the theatre gives me an entirely new experience from the average flat screen. The sounds systems are definitely better and the big screen is a sight to behold. My ability to buy snacks when going to the theatre is also an important factor biasing my opinion on the topic as I'm a foodie.

I completely agree with you! Albeit watching movies in the theaters is a good experience, I am more comfortable when I am enjoying a piece of entertainment in the comfort of my home. To add to your points, I think another strong point of watching films at home is that you can pause the show for a bit of a bathroom break. You can even rewind scenes which are a bit confusing, so that's definitely a plus.

Am not really a social person I dont fancy going out, niether stepping out from my comfort zone, And as so sitting at home turned me into a movie freak.

Soo I cast all my votes to siting at home with my own personal theater, sounds more fun to me.

I love watching movies in a theatre because it's such a great experience. You don't have to make any food because you can just buy it and there's just something about watching movies on a big screen that I find fascinating.

I prefer both. I don't know but I really like that home atmosphere, but I really like that theatre feeling too, If you know what I mean. Honestly, without friends are not interesting like with.

As much as I hate the absurd prices in movie theaters, there's nothing like going to one, watching a movie, and leaving feeling like an entirely new person. Watching a movie in theaters feels like stopping time in your current world to visit another world for a while. However, sometimes it's better to sit back on your couch and watch a movie. It's cheaper, comfier, and you can pause the movie whenever you want to go to the bathroom or get snacks

It really depends. I love to be able to sit back and get comfortable and relax. I love not spending an outrageous amount of money on some snacks. I also love to be able to cuddle with my boyfriend and to wear our jammies. But sometimes, I like to go out. If there's a movie that my boyfriend or I really want to see, I like to go and watch it as soon as I am able to. I like the idea of the movie theater, perfect excuse to be able to get out of the house and enjoy ourselves for a couple hours.

I love to watch movies at the theatre. Reason being, I get to lounge in comfortable sofa chairs and munch on popcorn and enjoy all I want and when I return home at the end of the day, I don't have to worry about cleaning up. Moreover, going to watch a movie gives me a well needed break from work, especially on the weekends. And me being a social creature doesn't help since I consider going to the theatre a chance to enjoy myself with friends, family or maybe people I meet coincidently, strangers and knowns alike.

I usually watch movies at home because everything is cheaper. Sure, the movies might take some time before they are for rent, but once they are, they can be rented for 3 dollars or less, while going to the movie theater with a family of four can cost $40+. Also, concessions are much cheaper, as the popcorn and snacks at home don't cost an arm and a leg.

When I do go to the movie theater, it's when I'm going out with friends. However, that doesn't happen too often.

I love going to the movies as a treat. But watching them at home, not having to drop $40 on snacks and tickets is kind of great. And then, if you have to go to the bathroom or you want more popcorn, it's not that big of a deal to pause and do that. Also, you're able to make comments or laugh like a dork and not bother anyone.

Individually, I prefer watching movies at home because I could enjoy it at my own pace. If I were to make plans with my friends, I would prefer to see this in person because the movie theater experience with loved ones are better memories to recall.

I feel like watching at home is better, absolutely no one can bother you, if you are alone. And the most important thing i think it is that you can pause the movie at home, that if you watch it on a pc/phone.

I can’t really chose because I really enjoy the experience of going to the theaters and buying fresh made popcorn. At the same time I love being with my family and spending quality time just watching a movie. I would be okay either way.

Watching movies at the theater can gives a different vibes to a movie seeing other people's reactions to the epic scenes just makes everything better. I remember watching End game before and it's one of the best moments i've seen when everyone was cheering on the screen.

I prefer to watch movies at home becasue it is more convient in the sense that im able to watch the movie in peace as well as having a say as to where i want to sit and with who, also the food is free and i can eat and drink as much as i want. At my house im able to pause the movie if i need to leave my seat for any any reason and i will not miss any of the critical parts of the movie.

I definitely prefer to watch movies in the theater! It’s a different kind of vibe at the movies. Very nostalgic these days. There’s nothing like the large screen and surround sound! I can’t wait for the next good one to come out. I’ll be there like

Just as most of the other people posting have said, I watch movies at my house where I can spread out on my couch or bed with someone I love sitting next to me, not on a cold, fake loveseat that has a crack in the middle that splits any money that falls in with the other seats that are in the back row. The tickets are too expensive, I can buy a years worth of popcorn for the price of a small, and $8.00 for a drink is way too much, even if it is the size of a water cooler refill jug. They also don't fit in the cup holders.

It's a shame because some of my finest memories of childhood is at the theater, even my first kiss. Maybe I'm turning into a grouchy old man. I can't sit in there anymore.

On one hand, theaters provide a sense of unity with complete strangers (something I personally miss), and on the other hand, they were overpriced. I don't really care about all the surround sound, IMAX, 3D, 4D experiences; I just want to watch a movie with people who want to watch the same movie.

This is an old question, but now, during pandemic times, it seems very relevant. It is now even easier to watch movies at home or even TV shows with your family and friends. You could also stream a movie through zoom or discord so that your friends can virtually watch it with you. Movie Theaters you will be missed.
