Love has been a favored topic of philosophers, poets, writers, and scientists for generations, and different people and groups have often fought about its definition.

While most people agree that love implies strong feelings of affection, there are many disagreements about its precise meaning, and one person’s “I love you” might mean something quite different than another’s.

Love is a neurochemical reaction where you are infatuated by a person. You want to spend more time with them, you want to see them, you think about them a lot more, they're the only person you think about, you want to care for them, you want to be with them and they are a dopamine source. But that's science. Boring.

What is love? Love is a promise. Love is the promise to be patient, even when you don't feel patient. It's the promise to be kind. It means not holding a mistake your partner made against them. It's a commitment to see the best, believe the best, and act our best on behalf of the one we love. Even if it's the last thing we want to do. Love is the vow to protect, the vow to comfort and reassure. The vow to trust and the vow to hope. Love is a pledge not from one, but from two reciprocating parties.

Sometimes you mess up. Sometimes you fail to honor the emotional contract that is love. However, what matters, in that case, is that you show kindness. You try your best to make up for it and you try your best not to make that mistake again.

    That's what love is.

I believe love is real, because I see love everywhere.
Love is not about how much you like someone or find them attractive. It's more about how much you are for the, respect them and how much you are willing to do for the. A simple act of kindness can be translated to love. It's just a small letter word, but it holds the entire world inside of it.

    This is really beautifully written!

“A simple act of kindness can be translated to love.”

I also believe in love, although it can be interpreted in many different ways. I particularly like the saying “I love” or “I’m in love”. I love all of my friends, however I am not in love with them. I care for them and I would do anything for them which, in my opinion, is a form of love.

I also believe in love for myself. I think a person needs to love himself before you can really love another. I think that this self-love is necessary first in order for you to be able to give love.
