Unfortunately, I do. Like most of the people I guess. Instagram, Whats App, YouTube. I often do not have the time during the day to use them, so I do it late at night. It is a bad habit tho, and I try to avoid it. You should too.

It's not one of my best qualities, but I have to admit that I do this all the time! Checking my phone is both the first and the last thing I do every day. I also check my phone randomly in the middle of the night every time I wake up. I'm actually not sure how I used to get a decent night's sleep before the "Do not Disturb" feature came into existence. :(

Of all the apps, Twitter is my kryptonite. Sometimes I feel like it's the only way I'm able to remain socially relevant, given how busy I am during the day. As a result, I end up spending more time on it than I should in the evenings

    Unfortunately, my answer is: Yes.

I’ve been trying to break this habit but with the way things go for me, I’m constantly on the phone and that’s something I’m trying to break. At work, I’m able to push away from it - I just chuck my phone into my purse and I forget about it. However, at home, it’s so simple to just space out and scroll aimlessly through social media. I’ve been trying to break out of the routine of scrolling through endless feeds, but it’s almost as if the moment I pick up my phone, I just want to scroll through.

Like the post above mentions, I have tried the Do Not Disturb mode! That actually helps a lot and makes it so much easier to ignore things. However, just as they mention, I do the same thing of checking my phone when I randomly wake up at night. It’s such a difficult habit to curb!

Sorry but no thanks! If I do that, than I realy don't have a private life. There is always somebody online who wanna chat. If it's from Facebook, Whatsapp, or any other social media platform. No mather what time or day it is. When do I get my rest? And if I always reply than I never give my attention at home. So when I get home, I put everything off and put my private life seperate from my social life. This is if you know a lot of people and you have several social platforms.

I use my phone at night but unlike everyone else I listen to music instead. This is usually the time when I log out of all social media sites. These sites can keep you up all night like Instagram.

I usually don't use my phone late at night. In fact, I have set it to turn by itself off an hour before midnight as I also sleep earlier than that. I might sound like an old maid, but I prefer to have my nights free from gadgets. I do not sleep with my phone next to my bed and just enjoy the night without asking what's going on in social media. I have set time for all of that during the day.

Yes, on many nights I use my mobile phone for mainly internet usage, such as watching videos on YouTube and sometimes I listen to music on my phone before bedtime. I'm soon going to set a new rule for myself by not using the internet after 9:30 pm. This would allow me to have better sleep during the night because I wouldn't be distracted by the internet.

Yeah, I find these I have the same problem. Typically I will spend around 1-3 hours a night on my phone when I really should be sleeping. I am really trying to break the habit, but so far I have not made any progress. Eventually I will get there and I hope you do to.

I use my mobile phone every night because I love to play games and do entertainment stuff but sometimes I do not overdo it so that my eyes won't get hurt I watch videos in YouTube scrolling my news feed on Facebook because compared to the daytime it is the time that I get to work in my office.

Who doesn't at this point? I know it's unhealthy, but I feel the most peaceful when I get to lay down and go on my phone during the late hours of the night. Everything is so quiet, and I have no responsibilities. Just me, my phone, and the dark.

    Sadly yes.

A while ago I tried to form the habit to put my phone away at least an hour before I went to bed. As we probably all know now, the blue light is detrimental for our melatonin (sleep hormone). But since the lockdown this bad habit slipped back into my life. I often think about how much time I spend on my phone while there’s a whole world out there that I could explore.

Unfortunately, yes. I've been considering for awhile starting to put it down after a certain time. Or simply have my ring tones on so that the only reason I would be on my phone would be to answer a message or call.

For me, it is because of the versatility of the item that I use it so much. I read on my phone quite a lot using both the Kindle and Nook apps. I used Pinterest to find recipes or generate ideas for work. I write ideas into my Notepad app and I check my email.

There is probably a better life for those who know when it stop being glued to their phones and participate in the much larger world that is to be found outside of the digital. The studies we will probably see in the near future as to the impact of so much screen time and the probable psychological addiction it forms will be interesting to see.

My hope is that a better balance can soon be achieved by myself and those near me through control and more planned activities in my regular daily life with a set evening routine that gets me to sleeping when I should. This way I can wake up refreshed and ready to experience the real world and not one that is found on a screen.
