Computer users and programmers have become so accustomed to using Windows, even for the changing capabilities and the appearances of the graphical interface of the versions, therefore it has remained Microsoft’s product. Although, Lycoris, Red Hat, Mandrake, Suse, Knoppix, Slackware and Lindows make up some of the different versions of LINUX. These companies release their own versions of the operating systems with minor changes, and yet always with the same bottom line. The simple fact that not one of these companies are close to competing with Windows, for the most part causes the difference in market share.

It sometimes seems everyone on the planet is using Windows. Many say Windows is way better than LINUX because of the simple handling of the software or hardware. There are huge differences between the number of users of LINUX and Windows. Many say LINUX is far better because it started as an Open Source software and thus is more flexible than Windows.

I use Windows Because I work from Home Doing Customer Service. And most of the Companies Require you to use Windows as that's what they Software can Accommodate And has been programmed For.

Linux vs Windows. It simply depends upon who you are and what you do with computers. It can also vary upon your personal preferences.
For example a average user might prefer windows due to its user friendly interface. Whereas an advanced user who prefers performance and customization over user friendliness might prefer Linux. Windows does not have the extent of customization found in Linux and is a bit slower.

Windows is the best choice for 90% of desktop use cases, but there are some very specialized use cases where Linux is best, like cybersecurity or data science, or even development in general. Besides, Linux runs faster on computers with less powerful specifications, if you get the right distribution. However, software support still has some way to go before it can catch up, especially when it comes to software developed for Asian markets, as the Linux userbase is extremely small there.

Windows is a good choice for most people since it has the largest user base of any Operating System and has more support than Linux but, Linux can be a way better choice for some people, take Server Hosting services for example, Linux is a way better choice for them as it is more lightweight than Windows, also Programmers might need Linux because, in the Linux community, Programmers make up most of its user base, So the Linux vs Windows battle is mainly based on preference and needs.

In my opinion, Windows is more elegant, and more user friendly, however, there are some computers that struggle to support it, so in that case, Linux would be more appropriate.
Another strong argument to use Linux is by its usability in cybersecurity, by the tools it offers, and the community behind it.

Even though Linux is a free, open-sourced operating system, I much prefer using Windows. There are some programs and applications that will struggle to be compatible with Linux. What I love most about using Microsoft OS: the stunning user interface and compatibility with different file formats. At the end of the day, it's down to the individual's preference.

Reasons for or against depend on your use. For the most part Linux works well. Where it doesn't work well is complex hardware and software that interacts with it. This means that Games, complex video and graphics editing and some wireless networking will have issues.

If all you want is a workstation to do document editing, browse the internet, check your email etc. And you can support it yourself - Linux is a good choice as it's polished, stable and free. If you want to play cutting edge games, use almost any Adobe product (this may be outdated) or use leading edge or obscure hardware (notebook esp), you're going to have to work uphill. Windows has much better support for these things. But - you pay a cost. Both financially and with privacy. Windows is also a popular target for malware because of its prevalence.

I run Linux on all my computers then create a VM with windows 10 for all my novice users to share. If you'd like to try a system, download Virtual box (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads). You can download multiple Linux OS and try them before making your decision. I highly recommend Linux mint for an everyday, lightweight OS and Parrot OS for a bump in security.

Linux is preferred for programming purposes. I have used linux for my ruby on rails projects. For personal use, I prefer windows. User interface of windows is simple and easy to learn, which makes it better for everyday use.

Each operating system has features that are distinct from the others. In practice, Windows is more practical than Linux and other operating systems for the availability of tools and alternatives already prepared and ready for use, while developers start working on different Linux distributions and supply them with tools that were not available before, and you have to work to provide the tools you need, Open-source Linux has dozens of free distributions, unlike Windows. You have to pay for the license and there are no distributions, but there are different generations for each.

I guess its simply on the preference of the work you are doing and requirements the company is asking from you or the clients keeping in mind.
