Travel your home country or Abroad first?

For me, I will choose to travel my own country which is the Philippines. It has different beautiful things that can offer. I can visit Fort Santiago (Manila), Calle Crisologo (Ilocos Sur), Corregidor Island (Cavite) and Mactan Shrine (Cebu) if want to travel back in time and to reminisce the history of my country. If I want to be a kid again, there are amusement parks like Enchanted Kingdom and Star city. Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a place to visit if I want to witness a breathtaking view of the nature. Philippines also have a lot of beaches; a world-class like beaches that not only Filipinos but also tourists from different countries will enjoy. Some of these are, El Nido (Palawan), Boracay (Aklan), Panglao Island (Cebu), Coron Island (Palawan), Pagudpud (Ilocos Norte), Siargao Island (Surigao Del Norte) and the list goes on. The culture of the Philippines is very rich. We have a lot of festivals that is celebrated with full of happiness and it will surely leave a mark in your life. I believe, before you can enjoy the beauty of other country, you have to appreciate your own first. So for me, I will choose to travel and explore my own country first than to travel abroad.

 

If I have too much money to travel the world, I would choose to explore first the beautiful nature of our country, Philippines, before exploring the beautiful places of other countries.

Philippines is always featured in magazines and TV shows in other countries because of being rich in nature. People from other countries are eager to visit our country to view and experience our good nature. I, who live in the Philippines, must visit the wonderful places of our regions to share my experiences when I travel to other countries.

Love first your country. Appreciate and treasure the qualities and resources of your country so you will learn to appreciate the wonderful places and culture of our countries. People travel not only to experience the wonderful places of the country but also to learn the culture of the country.

 

If I were given a chance to travel, I would prefer to travel first in my home country before travelling abroad. First of all, It's more fun in the Philippines so why not explore my own country and experience the fun. Besides, Philippines is my homeland and I will choose it over other countries. I am grateful to say that there are many tourist spots and tourist attractions here.

 

I think a good mix of both is healthy because you gain an appreciation for your home and where you come from however traveling outside of home allows for more diversity and awareness of other people and their lives. However personally I feel traveling your own country is safer and gives you an understanding of how to travel safely without throwing into the mix a completely different language.

 

I totally agree with you, but maybe there are some exceptions. Sometimes, it turns out that spending a vacation abroad is cheaper than visiting another city in your native country. And I am not sure, but maybe there are countries where visiting other cities is not safe or there are no sights there.

Before going abroad for vacations, I had visited many Russian cities and towns. I got a wonderful experience and felt much appreciation that I was born here. To date, I have visited 14 countries as well, it was also nice.

 

I was fortunate enough to grow up moving around when I was younger, this allowed for me to experience different parts of Australia, and plan where I would travel first once I had finished school.

I did decide however to travel straight after school in my own country as it was more affordable at the time. It was from 1997 - 1999 and I spent many nights in a tent,backpackers, couches where possible and even the backroom of an art studio of Pro Hart. My reasoning was mostly I could work at fruit or vegetable picking farms around the country, dependant on the season, and meet mostly European and American backpackers who were travelling Australia.

Overall it was fantastic, and I now have many fond memories that I have shared with my children. My only regret would be that I still didnt follow my dream of a working holiday in Europe before I turned 30.

 

I love to travel. Traveling around the world is my greatest dream. I have traveled around in my home country, the Philippines. I want to tour around the Philippines first before traveling abroad. I want to witness the beauty of my country and discover its diverse culture. After here in my country, I would then proceed to go to other countries and witness God's beautiful creations.

 

I first traveled abroad. Many people I met seem to prefer exotic countries and international experiences rather than a safer journey in your home country. I have to confirm that it is more exciting because you have many challenges to face. For example the difficulty of dealing with people who don't speak your language or the different food styles and cultures. It can be very challenging and a way to grow.

After traveling for a while around the world, I noticed that my own country has got many marvels to visit and discover. So nowadays, I enjoy some trips throughout my own home country and even short trips around the surrounding areas of my home town.

 

I would agree with most of you, saying that travelling locally is the way to go. My country is luckily tropical island. So a ton of beaches!!

I'm lucky enough to have had a chance to get out of my country. Honestly, I prefer travelling locally then internationally. Less expenses, Less effort but more fun!

 

I live in southern California and it amazes me people say they've been somewhere tropical or exotic and haven't been out of the state. The USA is the most diverse country in the world we have deserts plains mountains woods forests of every kind I cant think of a geological feature we don't have and you never understand the size of the us until you drive across it explore your country you might find its more beautiful then you thought. because my favorite memories have been on cross country road trips.
