Do you believe in soul mates?

Yes, I do believe in soul mates. I know that each of us is already destined for someone even from the moment that we were born. Ever met someone for the first time and right there and then you easily get along together? That's your instinct telling you that you've finally found your soul mate. But also be careful, some might just be deceiving you.

Many people are still desperately looking, while others are patiently waiting. Some say that they've found the one, while others thought wrong. So eventually, their relationship ends up bad. So try to be smart as much as you can, listen to your heart. Maybe they're already there but you're just not looking closely.

 

I have to wonder why you posted a question and immediately answer it.

That aside, I view the soul as being synonymous to the mind. I also understand mate to mean match in the way that the "male" side to a threaded pipe mates with the fitting "female" threads of a connecting pipe or joint. Through this view, I have a problem understanding the idea that there would necessarily be only one possible person for anyone. Even most puzzle pieces match with several others, albeit on different sides. To this end, I think that anyone that closely enough matches the way you think is a soul mate.

That said, I find more value in the years I've spent in a monogamous relationship through the thought that I was continuously chosen, and so was she. We aren't together because we have to be. We're together because we want to be.

 

I don't believe that God made anybody specifically for anybody. There are just people of the opposite sex that we click with better than others and God will bring these people in and out of our lives. Its up to us and our free will to chose.
