I don't know whether I should call National Treasure an adventure movie. But its one of my favorite and always provokes my mind to go on a treasure hunt myself one day.

I think of superhero movies more of action movies than adventure but I LOVE them.

If I were to choose adventure movies that I love, although I really love the National Treasure movies (and wish they made more) I have to give it to my Indy. I may be biased because I am IN LOVE with him. I LOVE the Indiana movies, even the last one. And every time I think of them wanting to reboot and create a different Indy....it makes me want to scream. Harrison Ford is an AWESOME actor, and no one will be able to do Indy as he does.

My favorite adventure movie would have to be, The Rock. Sean Connery and Nick Cage did a great job together. The film was full of action from the very beginning. Ed Neal was a serious patriotic villain. Not a whole lot of special effects, which made the film all the more realistic and enjoyable.

My favorite Adventure movie would be "Raiders of the Lost Ark" with actor Harrison Ford. When this movie came out in the early 1980s, I was really impressed with all of the visual effects. The big ball chasing Indiana Jones and the scene with the ark of the covenant being opened. I have in interest in Archeology, especially biblical ones.

I like Romancing the Stone and The Mummy for sure. These movies don't have a lot of blood and gore or excessive killing with weapons and they're wholesome enough to watch with the whole family.

My favorites are Romancing the Stone, Jewel of the Nile, the Indiana Jones catalog, and the Librarian movies. I like the scenario of a teacher, professor, archaeologist or librarian getting into the action of their subjects. They walk the talk and their education gets them through many of the action scenes.

I believe Indy is going to make another movie. Harrison will be passing the baton, but what a great ride!

I like movies like Jumanji, Zathura - I know these are old, but they made my childhood awesome - and Journey to the Center of the Earth. I like adventure movies that are filled with comedy - therefore my choices. :)

I'm not sure if Project Almanac is considered an adventure movie. But if it is, then Project Almanac is my favorite adventure type of movie. I love time travelling.

Always hard to pick just one.

For me action (or any other) films don't work without sympathetic characters. Ones that are flawed, vulnerable, and nuanced. This is why for me The Road Warrior, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Die Hard work so well, and to me are a definitive trinity of 80's action. Even the antagonists were interesting.

There have certainly been other memorable action films before and after. La Femme Nikita, Hot Fuzz, Hardboiled, The Matrix, 13th Warrior, Big Trouble in Little China, Terminator 2, Aliens and Fury Road are a few others that really stand out in my book. Cameron, McTiernan, and even Carpenter were unrivaled in their heyday. Police Story gets an honorable mention for the relentless awesomeness of Jackie Chan's stunt work. I think action loses a lot when it is overshadowed by CGI. While the current deluge of comic book heros provides entertainment for the eyes, most of these films lack any kind of compelling characters and are ultimately forgettable.

If I had to settle on just one to call my favorite, I can't decide. Probably a tie between Raiders and Die Hard.

Castle in the Sky is my favorite adventure movie. It has great pacing, a well crafted world and an excellent score. It might not be everyone's cup of tea since it is an animated movie, but it has a great deal of depth.

Armour of God is another great Action-Adventure movie. It was loosely based off the ideas of Indiana Jones, though it was not based in the past. It features Jackie Chan at his best, so you know there will be great action, and some well timed comedy. This movie also has one of my favorite car chases in all of film.

There are many movies based on adventures. But few of them have ability to attract people. I love to watch adventure movies. I like action adventure movies.
    A few of them are:
    1) Gods of egypt
    2) Mystery of lost island.

I have so many favorite movies and most of them are animated movie some of them are mostly from disney pixar that produces so many good movies but what i like the most that i'm also a big fan of is Japanese anime movies. My most favorite animated movie of all time are from the anime one piece it features a group of pirates that has a goal of finding the one piece or greatest treasure of all time all the member of the straw hat pirates possessed incredible powers so they can defy all odds or hindrances along the way. One piece have release so many sequel of movies of their adventures each movie features back stories of each member of the straw hat pirates which somehow connected to all the adventures they had. One piece are also airing in episodes ever since my childhood that up until now is on going and because of its popularity they have also released so many sequel of movies of that anime that had became my most favorite animated movie.
