Do you ever feel like we do not really learn in school?

I am so annoyed because during this break, I am starting to realize that I do not learn as much as I thought.
There are so many ways that we could fix this problem but, we never get around to it!
    And we end up,
just ignoring it and letting ourselves finish useless work over and over without retaining it.
I wish there was a way to fix this!
Do you have any ideas on how to fix the school system?

In our school system related learn science match and all the other bookish things point however we lost something that was absolutely necessary to be a full human being and that was learning a good aptitude. Our parents focused that it was the duty of the school and the school said it was the duty of the parents so nobody gave that thing any attention.

I definitely agree that turning to online schooling has limited the amount of stuff I learn. It feels as though all work is busy work.

To his credit, my math teacher is plowing full steam ahead and giving video lectures every day.

I feel we do not learn much on school it more memorising work to pass rather than understanding what is being taught. I'm worried because my sister is going to start going to school next year and it scares me because what if she doesn't learn even though that is the sole purpose of school, to teach kids. The problem is that there is not enough resources to teach. Besides every child is different and learns on different ways but at school all children are expected to learn in the same way hence why alot of kids don't really learn work because it's not being taught in their style.

I believe that a lot of the school day is really wasted. If schools stuck strictly to education then the days would be a lot shorter as well. I think students actually learn very little in a single school day.

I feel like a lot of the things we learn in schools do not reflect what is out there in the real world. There have been many memes on how we all learn algebra, trig, calc, all leading up to us simply just using a calculator in the end. Schools should teach more practical things like how to do taxes, how to buy a house, how to handle loans, etc. Schools should also not require you to learn something that is not in line with your career path. Learning the detailed history of all the US wars as a computer scientist would not be very useful down the line.

There is no way to fix this school system. It was built upon fraud and misleading the masses. They don't even teach us the most important things we need to know about life.

The problem with our current school system is that it was made decades ago, during the industrial era, where factories mostly needed workers to behave and do exactly what was told to the workers. Because of that, rich business owners spent a lot of money to alter the school system, and thus it was made to create workers who do exactly that- to listen to the directions and do exactly what the directions say.

For example, classrooms and schools have a set of rules that we must follow, and if someone breaks the rules, they are punished for it. It could be as light as asking the student to fix what they did wrong to giving the students detention. On the other hands, students who follow instructions are rewarded for doing so.

I agree, schools don't even teach us what we need to know about life. In life, we are required to have a creative mind and be able to decide for ourselves. Schools, which was created to help us prepare for life, teaches us the exact opposite thing- to follow directions.

I agree, we mostly just do useless work over and over again, and we never really retain it. Even if we do, its only for a short amount of time. There is a way to fix this, but there are many things to do if we need to if we want to fix the school system, but it is very unlikely that these changes will be implemented.

First, we must make it so that the students are interested in what they are learning. As such, students shouldn't be forced to take mathematics course if they are not interested in it, no matter how good they are at it, because they will not learn it. They also shouldn't be prevented from taking, say, writing courses if they are interested in writing, even if they don't have very good grades. This is because people learn better and can actually retain information better if they are interested in the stuff they are learning. Teachers, parents, and other people are obstacles for this, because people tend think that students should go and take a career in which they have good grades in, even though grades don't actually reflect how good a person is in the subject.

Second, we must provide a lot of breaks for students. The brain works like a muscle, and it needs periods of training and breaks. If you don't train your muscles, your muscles won't grow bigger. Similarly, if you don't take breaks and give the muscles time to rest, your muscles won't have time to grow and will just stay like how it is no matter how much you exercise. The brain works pretty much the same way. We hardly have any breaks between classes to rest, and we don't have time to consume the information we learned. This is pretty much not going to happen. First, if we want this, either the classes needs to be shortened or the school end time is moved back. It is impossible for people to move back school end times because of things like club activities and sports and the like. And teachers will not want to shorten classes.

Third, we must reduce the amount of homework teachers give. Now, before you point out that I'm including this because I'm a student, let me tell you the reason. This is similar to the idea I mentioned earlier about breaks. Students have already spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon learning, so why do they need to spend the rest of the afternoon and the evening to continue working on the torturous school work? What they need is not more work but time for them to rest and do the things they like so they can actually absorb the information that they learned during school. Students have their own things to do in life, and homework takes away the time they can spend on doing things they like, which will make then grumpy and less happy to go to school and thus lowering their performances.

Fourth, we need to move back school starting times. Yep, you read it right. Why? Because teenagers tend to have their melatonin, a hormone that the body releases to help you sleep at night, start producing at 11:00 PM and stop producing at 8:00 AM. This is why students find it really hard to sleep early at night and hard to wake up in the morning. This is most likely not be implemented, because schools will have to move back school end times or shorten classes, which, like I said earlier, people will not agree to do.

Fifth, we need to cancel tests, or at least, change how much importance people place on the tests. No, I'm not joking. As many people can agree, tests don't test you on what you actually know; tests only "test" you on what you can remember and cram into your memory like a few days before the test, and 1 day later after the test ends you can say goodbye to the information. Because of this, students aren't learn to learn- they "learn" to remember things for a short time solely to get a good grade. I actually think that this should be easy to do, but I'm not a school director, so I don't know why it hasn't been implemented.

There are probably more things that needs to be done to fix our school system, but these are the things that can think off at the top of my head.

TL; DR: There are many things we need to do to fix our school system, but most of them are extremely unlikely to be implemented.

We definitely learn in school, I just feel there’s more effective ways to educate. Having homework be 70%-80% of your grade falls into you teaching yourself. Now granted you wouldn’t have to tools to teach yourself without school, I still believe it should more hands on than it is. I know the homework is more of a problem in the US than other countries, but still I feel as if studying should be left to do at home and work should be done at school.

Education is very important and necessary for everyone person, education should not be ignored but the way the people see education they see it as irrelevant or not impressed at all which is not meant to be. Education is the bedrock for making future leaders
