There is a new report which says that millions of photos of people's faces have been collected by the NSA from photos in emails, texts, on social media and through video chat. The same thing was revealed in the UK recently. How concerned are you about being spied on via the internet?

I am very concerned about being spied on via the internet and minimize usage to the extent possible. However as long as a user has to use an Internet service provider there is very little he or she can do about the monitoring of the data and internet usage remotely. Even if the laptop is not connected to the internet in India, people are able to use wifi backdoors and a hidden wifi network to monitor all the laptop activity remotely and steal data.

I was subjected to corporate espionage by a large company in India for identity theft and they have sophisticated expensive equipment which allows them to even monitor when my laptop will be switched on. It is difficult for a civilian to get information on data theft, as these officials will give flimsy excuses of national security to avoid providing information.

No one likes being spied on. Period. if there is a choice to choose from, no one would still want to be spied on. Today's world is corrupted with collateral damage if you choose not to be part of the system. Either you are being spied on and you are part of that spying scheme. NSA confronted and accused Edward Snowden of committing espionage when in fact he chose not to be part of the spying program. It is a big concern in today's society where it is a crime to say something is unlawful. Authoritative figures will come after anyone that comes against their evil work. People should be concern about what is going on right now and they need to make a stand. Why in the world are people spying on others is out of mind. Only unsecured bigots do that type of work.

Thanks to the nsa and our u.s. government, freedom seems to be a thing of the past. As much as I'd love to say I'm not worried, in reality I'm always worried. Imagine thinking of how many people have seen you and your loved ones photos, priceless moments and memories, personal moments you only meant to show your friends list. My advice in order to be safe, do away with all social media! I personally would get too bored to do so.

    Hi,

We are being spied on all the time, that started happening when they signed into law the Patriot Act after 9/11, giving the NSA the power to do so, and let me tell you something everything that you upload, write, search or download in the internet is know to the authorities.

The place they like the most is Facebook, people think because they have the setting private nobody can see them, but there has been many occasions where in the news they have reported breaches in Facebook's security or simple glitches that allow people to see other people's private stuff.

Just think about this, if you are writing it or uploading it into Facebook that means is in their servers and it is stored there for ever even after you close your profile, then is not private anymore because the Facebook people can see whenever they want as they control their servers, how do you think Facebook is worth billions if they do not charge for their service, because the authorities pay them to use the site to spy on people and is very helpful to them also because of the many ads.

Our cell phones are also spied into, our calls, emails, texts everything that is how the government classifies people into groups.

    Have a good one.

Why do I always cover the webcam on my laptop whenever I'm browsing the internet. I would rather say I'm paranoid. With all these hackers running around the network, I'd say nothing is safe. Everything is connected. And they can get to you whenever you're connected to it.

I agree with others here in that it is disturbing that we're being spied on from the privacy of our own homes. I don't think this should be legal, but it seems the government has bigger fish to fry as they don't act like they're interested in doing anything about it. I should honestly do what Alaedin says and cover my laptop's camera, but I don't. At least we don't leave the Xbox plugged in so they can't get anything from my minor daughter unless she's playing on it.

I'm not too terribly concerned with being spied on. For starters, I'm using a crap laptop that doesn't have a camera, so my face is never seen. Two, I avoid most social media like the plague since I don't care to post everything I do to the internet on a daily basis. I did all of that when MySpace was all the rage and I had gathered a decent amount of friends from all over the world before I was burnt out and deleted my account. If anyone did spy on me, all they would see is that I really like visiting YouTube and playing on Steam.

I was thinking about it but I was never really concerned about that. I don't really care if i'm spied or not. I don't have a camera so they can't watch me, I don't post any photos or statuses on social medias like Facebook, and my only chatting is with friends on Steam.

I am a little afraid of being spied on since the powers to be can do almost anything especially with traceable tools such as the internet. Every time my computer would act funny I would jokingly say is the government messing with me again. However, you cannot get paranoid without just cause so it rolls off the back of my neck like water. If you are being spied on you most likely put yourself in a vulnerable position because why else would it make sense to spy. This is why I am careful to not posting too much vulnerable stuff over the internet for safety concerns.
