English is not my first language. It is just borrowed.

The plural of mouse is mice. A mouse is a rodent. It is a gnawing animal. It gnaws even at the computer wires. The plural of mouse is categorised in the irregular plurals.

Now, I wonder at the plural of a computer mouse. Is it mouses to differentiate it from the animal? Maybe it is still 'mice'.

Well, Bwoyele, I don’t know why it was even given the name in the first place. Lack of another term? Anyway, we must admit that when we closely examine the gadget (Mouse) you are holding, in many aspects, it looks like the rodent itself. Probably it was the reason it got the name. As you mentioned, the plural of mouse is mice and can be rightly used as so. However, I guess for the purpose of differentiating the two we could stick to mouses for the computer gadgets and mice for the rodents.
