Can All-Positive TV Exist?

Following up on a question about the impact of TV on our society, I thought about this question:

Is it possible to have television that is completely positive and uplifting? Would that be even possible? Most of us keep saying that "TV is so negative", but have we really considered the alternative?

Yes, I know there are positive channels, but what if all television was this way? Would you watch it?

 

Is all positive television possible, of course it is. Will it ever realistically happen, of course not. Why? Due to the fact since the invention of television the television and cable networks realized that sex, violence, and bad news makes for the highest television ratings. That sad statistic says a lot about us as the so called most intelligent form of life lol. As long as that is the case there will never ever be positive and uplifting only television shows. If that pipe dream ever did become a reality then I would be all for it!

 

There used to be. Think, "Little House on the Prairie" . I watched this non-stop as a kid, courtesy of my Nana. It would be nice to have another chicken soup for the soul type of show on mainstream t.v. again.

 

I would watch it. I may be among a very few people that do, lol. I believe that the way that things were has grown this insatiable desire in people to see sex, violence, crime, and drama. I would not have to kick my kids out of the room when my husband and I are watching something questionable.
