I know how to develop web page. I used html, css, javascript, and xml to create some web page. But I am not an expert on web developing because I don't have practice since I took web development short course last year.

When I started counting the programming languages I know I was quite surprised about myself. Some of them are: Python, C, C++, AVR micro-controller assembler, javascript, lua, PHP. It's quite simple to learn more programming languages when you know just one of them.

And to people mentioning HTML: I would really call it a programming language. :p

Most of my programming experience stems from HTML. My specialty is building simple websites with great content.. In the times we live in today a word press website can be just as effective as any site built with specialized graphics.

I believe content is the name of the game.

I am in college with computer course. Programming languages that I know are C++, Java, PHP, HTML, Visual Basic. Well for me Java is my main language and I'm still studying it. I love it because I love to hard code and make GUI. I can make simple games right now on my level. I don't learn enough from school they just teach the basic and we should do the rest so I visit lots of forums that are related in programming to gain more knowledge. I found programming cool and I love to right codes. I don't get lazy on it.

I was once a COBOL programmer in the 90's. For others who have not heard of it or might not even have a slightest idea what it is, COBOL stands for Common Business Oriented Language. If I am not mistaken this Programming language has been used even as early as the 50' s and they say it still runs most insurances and banks computers in the United States until now. From what I know, compared with other programming languages, COBOL is very structured and one must do a lot of coding. I stopped working as COBOL programmer for more that 20 years now but given the right tools, I can still remember how to do it and I can work with it.

I am a 3rd year B.S Computer Science student. As of now, I know the C++ programming language, Visual Basic, HTML, Javascript and PHP.

Most of the time I use C++ because it is easy to use with dynamic usage of keywords and fast assembly type of commands. When creating websites, I use the HTML most of the time with some Javascript to complement with it. When writing a thesis, the most easy to use was the visual basic 6.0 and Visual Studio 2013 by Microsoft. It already carries and supports different programming languages.

As of now, I am practicing myself to learn the Ruby on rails and Lessjs. For an easy development of applications that is suitable for mobile use.

It's a subjective question so there's no objective answer I'm afraid. A good answer would be that you know a language when you can proficiently write clean, well structured code in it and you understand a high percentage of the language features. A guess you could say there's an analogue with knowing a human language. You don't know French if you can barely cobble together an unstructured request for a baguette...

I have been learning HTML and CSS and now moving to PHP. I have mainly been using Code Academy with books and online resources and I am making some progress although I need to work much harder. I am a webmaster so learning PHP, HTML and CSS is very useful to me. I may also take up Javascript soon as well after I learn more PHP.

I've been trying to learn web development using HTML5/CSS with JavaScript and PHP but I never get enough motivation to finish learning it..

I've always wanted to learn programming and I'm pretty sure I'll learn some of web development soon since a lot has happened to the web in the past years and it's growing rapidly..

I know HTML and CSS. Of course, I don't know everythig. I can't make websites, but I can edit them. I have learned HTML on YouTube and CSS from books.

I can easily change codes in HTML without errors or mistakes. With HTML and CSS you can earn a lot of money.

I'm about in the same boat as you. I'm currently studying Information Technology at the Masters level and hope to soon be utilizing what I've learned in paid employment. My favorite programming right now is PHP . But I can work in HTML, CSS, Java, Javascript, Ruby, Python, C++, C#, and SQL with JSON, XML, and JQuery.

I have recently joined programming field and learned a few languages. My main focus in the start was Website Development. I learned HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Jquery, and PHP in the beginning. I have built a few websites to test my skills and learned a lot from my mistakes.

However, I am not only focusing on Website Development. Now I am trying to learn programming languages related to Software Development. I am currently learning C#, GW-Basic, and VB.net. Afterwards, I will try to learn more languages to enhance my skills.
