As per multiple reports, Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of joining Manchester City on a €15 million per year deal. The 36 year old Portuguese forward reportedly wants to leave Juventus after the club managed to finish top four in Serie A last season with a single point, edging out Napoli.

According to reports, Manchester City has reached a personal agreement with Jorge Mendes over personal terms for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese forward who has his transfer value set at €25 million will reportedly join his one time Premier League rivals during his time at Old Trafford, Manchester United.

After spending six years in the Premier League at Manchester United (2003-2009) it seems Cristiano Ronaldo is about to break the hearts of Manchester United fans by playing for their rival Manchester club.

Before leaving Old Trafford, the Portuguese star won the Champions League, ballon d'or,UEFA best player of the year (2008), PL golden boot,UEFA forward of the year, and other notable awards.

It is also worthy of note that he was the last Premier League player to win the ballon d'or (in 2008),and may likely be for a very long time.

It is important to also note that Cristiano Ronaldo was created by Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, after the latter signed him from Sporting Lisbon as a teenager.

Cristiano Ronaldo played six years under the legendary manager before leaving for Real Madrid in 2009,where he won the Champions League three times in a row(2016,2017 and 2018).

His journey at the Los Blancos ended in 2018 when he moved to Juventus to play in the Serie A,and now as a 36 year old established striker, the five time ballon d'or winner wants to come back to Manchester, but not as a Red Devil,as a Citizen instead.

In My opinion,Cristiano Ronaldo stands to lose three important things if he joins IMG_20210827_210439.jpg Manchester City this summer.

    1. The trust of Sir Alex Ferguson

Cristiano Ronaldo was literally a nobody when Sir Alex Ferguson picked him up from Sporting Lisbon and placed him in a team with legendary footballers like Wayne Rooney,Roy Keane,Paul Scholes, Gerard Pique, Edwin Van Der Sar, and many other footballers too numerous to mention.

In fact,Sir Alex Ferguson has on many occasions vouched for Cristiano Ronaldo during the Messi and Ronaldo argument, but it seems that Cristiano Ronaldo as a veteran player now wants to break the heart and trust his boyhood coach has in him by playing for Manchester United's arch enemies; Manchester City.

Such a gesture won't go down well with Sir Alex Ferguson, and may earn Cristiano Ronaldo the scorn of Sir Alex Ferguson.

    2. The trust and confidence of his ex teammates

Cristiano Ronaldo played alongside many notable Manchester United's club legends at Old Trafford. Some of these club legends include the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjær,Wayne Rooney,Paul Scholes,Berbatov, Robin Van Persie,Patrick Evra,Vidic,Edwin Van Der Sar,and many others.

If the Portuguese star makes any move right now to join the blue side of Manchester,he may well earn himself the scorn of his ex Manchester United's teammates

Such a gesture won't go down well with notable ex teammates who held him in high esteem as a Manchester United legend.

    3. The trust of Manchester United's fans and his place as a Manchester United legend

It is common to see fans of a football club fuming whenever their player goes to a rival club, and Cristiano Ronaldo will be no exception. If the 36 year old finally signs for the Blue side of Manchester,he may well forget that he was a Manchester United legend.

Cristiano Ronaldo may have been a Manchester United's legend, but a move to Manchester City is enough to tarnish such image in the club and in the hearts of fans.

Manchester City will reportedly announce the 36 year old as a substitute for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane in the next few hours, and only time will tell if Manchester United's fans still accept him as one of their own.

It is quite all right for a player to be professional by going to play for any club that can afford his wages, but not when such a club was once his arch rival and not when he could possibly break the hearts of fans of his ex club.
