How do you differentiate genuine money making opportunities from scams online?

I believe many of you in this forum are either affiliate marketers, online marketers or basically working online through many other Online money making ventures.

One of the greatest challenges we encounter online especially when starting out is the scammers' menace online.
There are more scams than genuine opportunities online and they do a great job not only to wet your appetite to make easy money online but also try to convince you why you should take their offer and not any other out there.
