Is Chess A Sport?

    If we consider sports as a physical activity, then chess would not be considered as one. However, there many who contend, especially the players themselves, that chess is indeed a sport due to its competitive nature. Until now, it still stands on its own without having been accepted into major sports competitions like the Olympics.

    I wouldn't really call chess a sport if you thought of it physically. But with the competition level of the of the sport it could be a sport. Also the amount of practice needed could also qualify it as a sport.
