is valantins day important to guys

the whole valantins day thing seems to be a ladies thing. if I am allowed to via into wishful thinking I will say ladies invented it for attention. If truly valantins day is about love, why would a lady get angry at her guy if he does not take her out or get her a fancy gift. Are we trying to say that love can only be expressed at expensive dinners or with material things, what about what the guy needs. I have never heard that a guy got pissed at his girl because she did not buy him a gift or take him out yet valantins day is suppose to be a day for people in love. Does that mean guys don't love? no, what it means is the ladies have made it all about them again and the guys just don't care any more.
